Rivers State House of Assembly has confirmed allegation by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that it gave approval to the state governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike, to secure a fresh loan of N10 billion. Leader of the House, Mr. Martin Amewhule, made the confirmation, yesterday, at a media interaction in his office, saying that the House sat in line with Order 5 Rule 1 and Order 37 of the House. He, however, denied claims by the APC that it sat in the early hours of Tuesday to grant the approval, adding that the approval was given on November 12. He said: “The government of Chief Wike had approached the Assembly to give approval to the state government to borrow and I want to say that the Rivers State House of Assembly followed due process and in tandem with the law and our Rules to approve such loans for the government. ''We have made approvals for the Rivers State Government to borrow, the latest approval is N10 billion. But, let me quickly say this, even if we put together the funds approved by the Assembly for the government, it is a paltry sum compared to what the Edo State Government just borrowed and which was approved by the Federal Government, as well as what the Lagos State Government borrowed and what other states are borrowing.” It will be recalled that the APC blew the issue open in its statement, alleging that the governor got the House to secretly approve the loan of N10 billion at 6a.m., on Wednesday, adding that all parties were told to keep the issue away from the public. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in a statement by the media aide to the state chairman, denied the allegation, saying that there was no such move to secure fresh loan.

APC is a scam!!! Power mongers!!! there have been relatively peace almost in all the state that APC won. I don't know why the devil is using APC to destabilize some state which they perceive must belong to them. |
