Awareness of alledged scam/crime is different from awareness of a confirmed criminal

Only the court of law can proclaim someone as a criminal but our responsibilities as concerned citizens is to raise awareness of the alleged crimes so other potential victims don't fall for the same scam

There wasn't really a previous thread dedicated this issue. It was a thread about something else that got derailed into this. Hence the creating of this one to avoid further derailing that one.

On the matter, Well I'd have preferred if the stuff got to the authorities. Because I Believe credit card fraud is a big deal.
But when it started those of us asking for it to be reported were hushed by the accused' friends. She was told that we would back down in supporting her when things go south and she'd be left alone to face the music. She was adviced to rather seek settlement. Which she did. I'm surprised it has been turned around to make it look like there's a cover up going on somewhere.
My take is that if the accuser is fine with settlement, then it alright. It's her life. At least she spoke up. Many didn't agree to speak up due to their image protection and they expect her to take him down alone?
So let her do as her strength can carry her. If it's to muzzle some of her money out of him. Then fine. I've adviced her to save any evidence that can exonerate or prove her innocence should it eventually get to the authorities or should the tables turn.

Apart from that the whole thread is just another NL field day of abuse and counter abuse.
People like amebo and that's what the almost 100 pages is mostly about. Gist and gossip.

This story is beyond dating, it's about a credit card scam.

We don't have the full story. Let them take the adequate evidence to court. This NL has been turned to a jungle justice court.

They told us that they're withholding information because of court/lawyer gag......so we can't adequately determine what is going on here.

More reason why I'm doubting the partiality of those involved.

@ thread, there have been many threads about scammers on NL. I can't recall one where there was such an overwhelming call for it to be treated offline and not brought to NL. I wonder why this case is so special especially when there is apparently evidence that NL is a hunting ground for the scam victims. How does it make sense not to bring it here to alert people?
