Its not only nigeria alone, Africa as a whole is bleeding due to low commodity prices. Those African countries with undiversified economy and only rely on one commodities fir their revanue will suffer a lot. from gold, platinum, oil, coffee, cocoa, diamond, they ve all dropped by more than 50%. Its a tough times in deed. If this downward spiral continues or remain as is, some countries in Afruca wont survive this.

Unless we build refineries in Nigeria to refine the whole damn thing, and start exporting refined products, as it is, selling crude is fast turning into real bad business.
Now, imagine Dangote completing works at his refinery. He buys crude from NNPC at $40 per barrel, refines it and sells his fuel at N84 and kerosene at N90 per litre to petroleum marketers.

This is good business. With the current downward price of crude, refinery is a very good business. I see Dangote becoming first 5 richest men in the world by the time his refinery runs for 5 years in Nigeria.

Yet this disorganized government is still talking about Petroleum subsidy...

What the connective here? The system of govt presently practised is not responsible for the oil glut. True Federalism will not make the economic situation either.
true federalism will lead to diversification of the economy..As long as we keep practicing this current system, Nigeria will never diversify...get that into your head.

These are bloody lies and nobody even believes it.
Economic assasins are the international banks employees who rape a country's economy. That fits Okonjo Iweala and Segun Aganga who were Jonathan's ministers. I am even absolving Jonathan from the crime in this instance . That one was just an innocent fall guy.

The people who sent you to post this trash did not ask you to explain where all the money went during Jonathan's time? ($114 per barrel X 2million barrels X 365 days X 7 years)
Calculate it and tell us what Jonathan did with the money.

Even the article you are posting gives ZERO blame to Buhari and more to previous governmentshould

Buhari is the man that Nigeria's rulling elite permit to rule when they have stolen everything and serious trouble develops. They did it when NPN destroyed Nigeria.

The problem with the lies you empty errand boys of looters post is that retribution is already coming from the spiritual angle. All the thieves are dying painfully even before Buhari gets round to trying them.

The truth will come out but Nigerians are not fools.
Right now we have no working refineries, no developed gas infrastructure, no Ajaokuta Steel, no Brass LNG, no Mambila Hydro electric, no metallurgical foundries, no new trains at Bonny LNG and Nigerians know the party that was on seat for 17 years is to blame... not the man who entered office six months ago.

You can tell lies but Nigerians are not fools. We actually voted for Buhari because of his vindictiveNess. He targets it at pen robbers and big name thieves.

Stand alone in your stupidity. You've been confronted with clear and pressing evidence that everything is going downhill fast but instead of turning to reason and logic you choose to embrace emotional hype and your stupid "E go better" mentality. "E go better" without evidence of an actual plan to make things better is a sign of retarded mental ability.
Your Goodluck Jonathan and his clique has stolen your future and they have taken part of your children's own as well. Whether tribalism blinds you to the truth is besides the point. There is suffering in your present and your nearest future. Buhari will try buy still you guys will suffer the consequences of having Jonathan in office and never telling him the truth one day.
Get it straight. Things are very bleak. There is no money and there was a President for six years. One year before he left, Nigeria was not even all its selling crude . The oil price fall also compounded the problem yet Obama warned this empty nonentity called Goodluck in an address in Ghana (he never visited Nigeria because every month corrupt fund flows from Nigeria was all he was hearing from security briefings in the white house)
Goodluck is the most inferior and empty President NigerIan has ever had . All the world knows except unexposed youngsters from SE Nigeria.

you got it wrong boy, even if all the refineries are working, Nigeria will still to import more than 45% of refined oil. We are not seeing the buyers is the main problem not the issue of our production. Is like buhari is more comfortable with importation fuel which looks far more cheaper than making our refineries work.Diversification in agric, mining and creation of small scale jobs for private investor.

This is the side effect of a parasitic relationship - Once the host goes down , the parasites will begin to understand the importance of their humble hosts.

Let the oil go down , let's look into ourselves and see what we can make out of ourselves and not relying on what we have inside our soil alone.

Say after me : Nigeria is a scam and the APC , Buhari are the drivers driving this scam itself.
Let us embrace true federalism o , parasites no go gree.

FG, States, LGs Share N568.4 Billion for Oct

Also, $1billion was proposed for distribution to complement shortfall in expected revenue." The $1billion is a compromise by the FG over its words in September not to augment shortfalls anymore.

Responding to the presentation, the chairman of the States Commissioners of Finance and Ebonyi State Commissioner of Finance, Mr Timothy Odaah, lamented that the statutory allocation was getting smaller and smaller. "It appears this is the worst in terms of returns. This is the least in allocations as far as this year is concerned. We are mourning the dearth of funds and this is a wakeup call for states and local governments to buoy up their internally generated revenue."

While appreciating the "magnanimity" of President Goodluck Jonathan to approve the $1billion from the excess crude account and to be shared among the federal, state and local governments, Odaah expressed disappointment with the returns made by the NNPC.

He said that the states had requested for $2bn to complement for the shortfall in revenue but got only $1billion. In September, Odaah and fellow commissioners had walked out of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) when the federal government said that the framework of the 2013 budget was no longer realistic and it won't augment shortfall in revenue. Odaah raised issues with the statutory allocations of previous months.

At this rate, Naira on free fall, falling oil prices, inability to sell oil, Biafra agitation, Boko Haram moves, Governors inability to pay salaries, etc. I am sure that someone would soon call for CONFAB report. Except we continue to deceive ourselves, Nigeria's future lies ONLY on the CONFAB report. Whether we continue to massage the or masturbate around, the problem of structural imbalance will continue until we wake up.

The saying goes thus, "No matter how long you have travelled on the wrong road, the only way you can get to your destination is to stop and return to the right road". Nigeria has been travelling the wrong road in the past 55 years, the earlier we receive common sense and reverse our folly, the better.
Who will represent you at this CONFAB? Isn't it the same unimaginative elite? Besides if the country "decides" to split, wouldn't it be into more fictional countries which have never existed nor have a history? Besides most of the emerging countries will be unviable without seaports and oil revenue.
