My brother laugh wan kill me here.

To share a country with regions that gives out nothing and is not willing to accept any logical change is something you'll never wish for any people.
What you're seeing here is 50 yrs of Northern and South west blind policy of subjugation and greed with a lazy mentality of being over dependent on oil they do not have and can't even manage even as Nigeria belongs to them.
Let us face the music - This is just Osadebe by the time we get to the reggae it would be nasty.
Don't listen to those shouting 16 yrs of PDP as if the structure of the country itself isn't a thing that calls for a major concern.
Let's practice true federalism and let each region develop at their own pace but they said we must die first before we get it.
We won't die - They are already going down economically, and of course we all are on board.
i just told a colleague in the office that until we quench like greece then would we think of a way forward to practice true federalism...till now i have not heard one minister or a senator talk about true federalism and resource control as the way forward for this agbaya country to bounce back economically and for jobs to be created in every state....the government still hopes to be dependent on oil reason why buhari insisted that he be the petroleum minister, rather than think absolute diversification of the economy....the government still wants all of us to be body hugged in lagos state like mad people...

Buyers shun Nigerian Crude Oil only because of stringent measures put in place by the new government.

The procedures to follow before you can buy Nigerian Crude Oil now is more constricted than ever. NNPC does not allow RWA from Bank to Bank or MT199 as proof of fund from buyers of crude oil again which was more popular during last administration. As a buyer, you will have to place banking instrument such as SBLC/BG (MT799/MT760/MT103-72) before NNPC can grant your contract (Application). No buyer is ready to place any of above instruments because 95% of offers are fake.

Buyers are only willing to place DLC (MT700) as an instrument which is performance guarantee and sellers are not willing to accept that because it does not give them the avenue to finance the deal.

More so, many prime banks has their rules for placing instrument for their clients but, NNPC does not put that into consideration. Many prime banks require proof of product (cargo documents that are verifiable) to enable them place BG or SBLC but, NNPC will not give proof of product without an instrument. Buyer has to place BG/SBLC before NNPC can allow nomination of vessel.

How many sellers can finance a deal on behalf of unknown buyer? NON!

How many buyers can place BG/SBLC on behalf on unknown seller or a performing seller they are dealing with for the first time? NON!

These are some issues hindering crude oil buyers from buying Nigerian Crude Oil. There are more issues that can not be discussed here!
Summary, Buhari is a business killer.

His busy body and I TOO KNOW is unrivalled..

Simple solution, get license to genuine interested investors to established refineries, refine our crude and sell to Nigerians and African markets and we survive for 25 years while developing agriculture.

Your Goodluck Jonathan and his clique has stolen your future and they have taken part of your children's own as well. Whether tribalism blinds you to the truth is besides the point. There is suffering in your present and your nearest future. Buhari will try buy still you guys will suffer the consequences of having Jonathan in office and never telling him the truth one day.
Get it straight. Things are very bleak. There is no money and there was a President for six years. One year before he left, Nigeria was not even all its selling crude . The oil price fall also compounded the problem yet Obama warned this empty nonentity called Goodluck in an address in Ghana (he never visited Nigeria because every month corrupt fund flows from Nigeria was all he was hearing from security briefings in the white house)
Goodluck is the most inferior and empty President NigerIan has ever had . All the world knows except unexposed youngsters from SE Nigeria.
The truth. It's just incredible, certain Nigerians will come online and defend/glorify the unmitigated disaster that was the Jonathan Administration. It's mindboggling.

Lol, you're an ignoramus .
How many states from the south east benefitted from the last bailout fund from FG ?
Did you see the latest ranking on the IGR per state ?
Go read up something and stop showcasing your ignorance in a public forum.

When I said that some persons voted for Bubu because of five thousand naira and a free meal for their kids , I wasn't joking at all . This is the reality and it has finally dawned on them that all changes doesn't equate to positive changes and on top of that you now have an individual whose vindictive nature and bigotry won't let him trust others with one useless 'I'm better than you mentality' piloting the affairs of this nation and some zombies are still expecting change.
How can you run a govt. for almost 6 months without any economic team on ground ? The economy will slip into comma.
In this 21st century where no one is sure about anything coupled with our inclination towards total capitalism and dependent on oil alone ,it is a standard practice to have economic team 24 hours to read the markets and GDP and promptly give advice on the policy to pursue to stabilize the economy yet a 75 year old man who couldn't improve himself after serving as a military dictator thinks and feel that he can run such a country like a farm ? undecided
Even farms needs better management.
All the people that voted Buhari into power are the real enemies of Nigeria.

All you have spoken is a sad reality that my Buharist neighbors are yet to make peace with.

But we will keep hoping against hope.

Personally, I'm finding it hard keeping positive faith with this government.
But it is well.

If it's the last thing I do, I will keep on believing and hoping that it gets better for all of us....even when the signs and all indicate otherwise.
But trust me, it's not easy. More oft, one can't really help but complain.

Genuine! is the key word.
But I will prefer genuine Nigerians either at home or in Diaspora.
PMB also needs to look for a very skilled Minister of Petroleum, while he faces governance and supervision!
Nigeria of today is different from Nigeria of yesteryears.
Nice suggestion though. I hope they are reading?

This is the kind of policy that has made India and Iran self sufficient. The opposite to this policy is what Greece did and they are in debt to multiples of their GDP.
Buhari's approach is the best . Stop all imports , increase agriculture massively, reduce governance cost, do public works to improve infrastructure.

I want to agree with you to an extent. The truth is no matter the policy direction of this govt or any govt for that matter at helms it will be difficult, even if it is the right policy.

The question now is, ARE WE DOING THE RIGHT THING? So that if we tighten our belts for like 2yrs we would then reap the benefits of getting it right. But if we are still doing the wrong things/policy and are thinking we would suffer now and soon it would be ok, we are deceiving ourselves.

The laws of the land eg the constitution is even a problem. Allow regions generate transmit and distribite their electricity, land use act, every land belongs to FG, fed road state road rubbish, if land and road is in a state that state shud manage it, simple. It also means states own their resources, they can exploit it and pay taxes to govt. Maintain roads etc. States will decide their own minimum wage based on their resourcefullness. States can attract DFI to help them exploit their resources with regulated conditions etc.

That's the way forward.
The truth is that a lot needs to be done. Starting from the Constitution, so many things have to be done. But I believe this government is sincere, at least they are telling me the truth and will get things right with time.

You see my username? I choosed it because I was disappointed with this country, but I have reason to hope.

...This post was about "INTERNATIONAL PRICING/SALES of crude Oil, and not about some local riff-raffs like you talking shyte.

BTW: Govt should divert some of this "excess crude" for local consumption.

All we need do is develop our local industries (Petro-Chemical and Refining) to use the excess crude.
We cant be shouting of glut when there is scarcity within the local economy.
Nigerians themselves will buy and consume majority of these supplies.

Inward-looking, is the way to go

We told them that he's an economic assassin, but they claimed his integrity will block loopholes.

We told them that he's corrupt just like his fellow croonies, but they claimed he never stole a dime.

We told them he's old, dull and slow, but they said they preferred a dullàrd that created Western Germany and President Mitchell's to a PhD holder that transformed the Agricultural sector of the economy.

We told them he doesn't have the moral standard, will and the technological knowhow to tackle corruption, but they claimed even witch hunting is fighting corruption.

We told them he's full of lies and deciet, but they hoped on the mirage NGN5,000 salary for the jobless and one meal pa day for their kids.

We told them that since he knew nothing about fuel subsidy, then he knows nothing about the petroleum industry/sector of the Nigerian economy but they claimed he'll stabilize world oil price and reduce PMS price to NGN40 per litre.

We told them he has no respect for the rule of law, but they claimed the judiciary was corrupt.

We told them his government is usually marked with heavy job losses and too harsh economic policies but they said they preferred to be jobless in a change government than to be gainfully employed in a Transformation government.

We told them he is not as humble as he looks but they said he had only NGN1million and 150 cows.

We told them that he's too old to govern, they claimed our youths are wasted generations.

We told them he doesn't have a certificate, they said he can use his NEPA bill.

We told them he's vindictive, but they said as far as they are concerned, he can employ all his family members, relatives and well wishers into his cabinet, even if they have no formal education, as long as they deliver.

We told them he's an enemy of democracy, they claimed they prefer his autocracy to the Nigerian Democracy.

We told them he's not humble but only a pretender, they said he'll sell off the presidential jets in order to cut cost of governance.

We told them he doesn't care about the Nigerian citizens, but they claimed he belongs to everybody and belongs to nobody, even though his appointments were mainly for the north, he embarks on fruitless journeys and speaks only to BBC Hausa.

We told them he supported Boko Haram, they told us that even if they found him in a meeting with Shekau and co, that wouldn't stop them from voting him.

We asked for any tangible thing he's done for the country after staying away from government for so long, they claimed it didn't matter.

We told him to get up from honeymoon and hit the ground running, but they called us wailers..

Finally, we told them he's a scam, but they shouted Sai Baba! grin

Behold Nigerians, here is your much desired change! cry

What Agriculturalists need are subsidised seedlings, cheap fertilizers, cheap tractor services, etc, then maybe farm settlements and access to water through irrigation and a functional Agric board. All these can be handled by SG and LG, if only they are serious
