At times when we are told about how the Naira had more value than the Dollar inthe Eighties,we take it with a pinch of salt. Today i saw a proof in my house with my very own eyes...
An old Book written in the Eighties,with the prize of the book in some countries currencies. The Naira was among these currencies(clearly because it was among the big bills then)...
Note the date and the prize in Naira and Dollar and Pound..

Interesting.

Because of the current international petroleum glut, revenues from oil -the source of no less than 94 percent of Nigeria's export earnings - no longer offer a hope of quick relief from the economic crunch.

In theory, Nigeria could earn more foreign exchange by cutting its oil price and increasing its market share. But in March, after reducing the price of its Bonny Light from $35 to $30 a barrel, Nigeria pledged not to lower prices further. What's more, Nigerian output is already close to the limit agreed to under current OPEC guidelines. And any unilateral price cuts at this point would probably set off a price fight among oil exporting nations, a nasty skirmish that Nigeria would be unlikely to win.

When you Fail economics and mathmatics in school your not really a good choice to take over a fragile economy.

NOTE: 1 Naira = 2.1763 Liberian Dollar for now, So Sai Buhari is still on it.
