Okay, for those trying to change their course of study. You can change from any course to any course before faculty and departmental registration(as long as you are connected).
But if you are waiting till after your first year, there are a few factors in play; compatibility of both courses; vacancy in your prospective department; willingness to start from Part 1 again.
Compatibility: Microbiology, Botany, Zoology --->MED; Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry --->Engineering, Botany, Zoology --->Microbiology.
Vacancy: Medical courses normally admit only few so out of 50 of you crossing to MED, only 5-10 might get there...it all depends on GOD, GP and connection.
Willingness to go back one year: Microbiology can go to PHA after Part 2, infact movement between strange faculties requires you to go back one year i.e Biological science to Faculty of Tech or Social sciences.
But I will advise you, if you are not able to cross. Make sure you don't give up and make sure you excel wherever you are. Because you can't say you will survive in medicine if Botany or microbiology messes up your GP.
Keep your hopes high and don't give up.
