KOGI: AT LAST, THE POWER SHIFTED. It was twenty four years, three months ago and exactly 27th August, 1991. A state called Kogi was created by the then Babangida Military Administration and after enormous agitation from the people of Ebira and Kabba/Okun who were hitherto in Kwara State. The Igalas who were heavily dominated by Idomas in Benue State had cause to also agitate for creation of Okura State. At the end of the day, Ebira and Kabba/Okun won their agitation for Kogi State while the Igalas failed to achieve their own Okura State. In order to end their domination by the TIVs and Idomas in Benue state, they were merged with the Ebiras and Kabba/Okuns to be part of the new Kogi state. The Ebiras and Kabba/Okuns welcomed the Igalas with open hands as brothers and sisters, not knowing that they were inviting big time enemy in to their house. The Igalas became to Ebiras and Okuns in the new Kogi state as the Tivs and Idoma were to Igalas in Benue state. The Ebiras and Kabba/Okuns were actually warned of the tribalistic and power mongering nature of the Igalas but the former took the warning for granted because of their love of hospitality. No sooner did the Igalas settled down in Kogi state that things began to nosedive as their true colour started unveiling. Between 1992 and 1994; 1999 and 2003, the Ebiras in Kogi central and Kabba/Okuns in Kogi west allowed their 'brothers' from the Kogi East(Igalas) to take the first slot of leadership as Governor of the state thinking that in subsequent years ahead, the Igalas would allow them same opportunity in reciprocal gesture. This was never to be because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Igalas became strong and politically domineering, forgetting how they were pushed out from the old Benue state, having served as "Agatu" (Labourers) to them for years in the past. Every attempts made by the central and west Kogi to have taste of leadership was rebuked by the Igalas from the eastern Kogi. When Prince Abubakar Audu, an Igala man, now late, became the first Executive Governor of the state for six years, he introduced sentiments and divisiveness in the politics of the new state. He brought about tribalism by locating every single project in his eastern axis. He infiltrated the central and western axis of the state and caused sharp hatred among the willing internal collaborators for no just cause other than selfishness and vaulting ambition. This seed planted by the first Executive leader of the state grown and continued to germinate with the subsequent leaders. It is therefore, not surprising that the tribalism, selfishness, animosity, injustice and hatred created in the state by the first executive governor were also adopted and continued by the subsequent governors as Alhaji Ibrahim Idris alias Ibro and presently, Captain Idris Wada who incidentally are all from Igala land of the Kogi east. This made an average Igala person and even some internal collaborators from other parts of the state to think slavery that the Igalas are born to rule and nothing will make power shift from them. Prince Abubakar Audu who was the first executive governor of the state and left government some twelve years back was still to emerge winner of the recently conducted governorship election in spite of his low performances and high level of accusations had he live to witness the conclusion of the inconclusive governorship election. May the soul of the late Prince Audu live in peace and may Allah, the Most High forgive his sins and grant him Paradise, amin. To further illustrate the tribalistic despot and selfishness of the Igalas, when the late Audu'replacement was sought by INEC, the Igala APC caucuses suggested Mohammed Audu, the son of the late Audu since according to their myopic selfishness, the seat of governor of Kogi state is hereditary and meant for them. If this is the case, it beats one's imagination why election is then conducted. From all indications, it appears that the National Working Committee of All Progressive Congress has done the expected by endorsing the first runner up in the still valid Primary of the party conducted on 29th August 2015 in person of ALHAJI YAHAYA BELLO ALIAS FAIR PLUS to replace the late Audu. Bello is 40 years and well experienced man from Kogi central of Ebira. All attempts to insinuate hatred against him has not worked and will not work. Let people think about God and stop thinking about people with their devilish simpletons. With the adoption of YAHAYA BELLO as replacement of the late Audu, the best thing has happened and no one has done this but the Almighty God who gives anything to whoever He wishes and at any point in time. As we await the formal announcement of YAHAYA BELLO endorsement by NWC of APC, it is axiomatic to think God on what has happened so far. What people think cannot happen is happening and will happen by the Special Grace of God, and when God has spoken, nothing else can happen in contrary. The power shift is happening and will happen. Even if the outstanding votes are diverted elsewhere, which is not possible any way, it will not stop what God has destined to happen, which is the inevitability of POWER SHIFT. When unexpected happens because expected hardly happens, nothing we can do but to say THANK YOU LORD Indeed,THANK YOU LORD. cc: lalasticlala |

sursur:Oga that is y he is God he does his thing in a mysterious way which u men can not unravel. God chose Jacob over Esau, even in a questionable circumstances God hardened the heart of Pharo to prove what he is. So guy leave the Op pls, if is God at work my guy there is nothing, absolutely nothing any of the Igalas can do, there is always an appointed time for every thing. God does nt need any permission from any body that's why he is God. When he is ready and at work no jazz from the pit of hell can contest and if it does it will surely end on a sad note for the victim. Power is from God Almighty he gives it freely to who ever pleases him Ok!!! |
