here are scratch photos. intended to indicate proportions. as you can see, the wing is twice as long as the entire body. the engine pack as well, is bulky. of course, it wouldn't be exactly shaped like that when it's done, but i need some ideas. This is just concept art, so calm down on the criticism.

so, I'm going to start learning AutoCAD soon, and doing more physics and mathematics, and HOPEFULLY, by next year, we can start talking of working designs.

Amazing, what did you use to design this?

You'll need some high tech and some math to make the wings flap and stabilize without flipping over and scattering all over the place.

Anyway, I had to use one artistic design software called blender to do it. since AutoCAD was . . . well, a pain to learn.
predictably, this happened.

And yeah, i guess i need a lot of math. Which is by the way, getting more and more unpleasant to me as I advance into higher topics.

High tech however . . . Programming rocks!

Lol at teempakguy, i believe therefore i am, you never know, i might be the girl 1km away.

btw, who will fund this? this design is easy but you need cash man... I can use a windows or andriod phone motherboard and a GPU to build the core and mind of this system, but the mechanicals man... we can't build the mechanicals from scratch in 50yrs without funding...

This is what i like to call a large timescale project. to be realistic, I'm not expecting the completion of this project within the next . . . quarter decade?

The reason i Chose the project was because of the relative simplicity, the fact that it's never been achieved before, and most importantly, the amount of fields required to make it work. you need people ranging from biologists to physicists to mec
hanical engineers to programmers and probably even chemists or nanotechnologists to work on this. It is perfect for a massive collaboration.

now, as regards to the mechanicals, We have two options. Hydraulics or artificial muscle. both are . . . daunting.

It reminds you of a fan blade because it is the exact same thing. It is a blade that pushes air down. just like a fan does. This one won't be as sharp as your average fan though. and you won't be able to reach it. as you can see, the box wraps around the torso, preventing the hand from going back under the wings.

How did you draw that?? Right now, I am struggling to think about how to build a vending machine . . . . . . . And I don't have a dime. . . .




@Topic :- well, TBH, I haven't thought about it cos I have alot of thinking stuffs. . . As soon as I settle, I'd chip in some ideas relating to the electronics that will power it. . . Thats what I have an idea of. . . Electronics

LOL, after all these years, this statement finally makes sense to me. .

but then you won't believe I'm still on this, and I've taken a slight diversion into tech blogging to try generate cash to continue the project.

but at any rate, this thread continues to be my log book.

I'm back.

Now, it turned out that making a human size ornithopter is a suicide project. not because it would work, but because it wouldn't matter. too many fundamental issues like even if it did work, it wouldn't be very stable or useful. especially since the proliferation of quadcopters which are amazing at stability.

so now it's more or less an hobby project, to build an ornithopter and see how big I can go. just for fun and science.
