Ndejiko:11 days × 7hrs = 77hrs. 77hrs = N269.50. 1Hr = 269.50÷ 77 =N 3.50/hr. If he works 26days @ 9hrs.. = 234hrs. @ N3.50/ hr.... 3.50× 234 = N819. Thank me now. |

Ndejiko:Man makes 269.50 naira in 7 days working 11 hours a day, that means he makes 269.50/7 naira/day working 11 hours. That's 38.5ngn/day. If he works 11h and makes 38.5ngn/day, Then working 9h will make him 38.5*9/11 = 31.5ngn/day. For 26 days, he'll make 31.5*26=819ngn |

Alternatively, you can do it this way. M varies directly as D & H. Where M is pay in naira, D is days and H is hours. The higher the number of days and hours, the more money he makes. So, M = kDH where k is constant of proportionality. k=M/DH k = 269.5/(7 x 11) How much will he make working 26 days and 9 hours? M = k x 26 x 9 M = 269.5 x 26 x 9/(7 x 11) M = 819ngn |

armadeo:hrs can't be equal to Naira. Neither can 1 h be equal to N/h. Your answer is correct, but your solution step is inconsistent. |

MathsChic:please elaborate the inconsistency. what i simply did was calcualate what the person earned per hr and used that to determine the wages for 26days @ 11hrs/day, which is what you did only i dont think the OP can follow your convoluted process. |
