I would.recommend that you have someone else read your SOP, to confirm that it is indeed strong.

Also, it is likely that the VO assumed your program was four years long so s/he may have been expecting a larger balance. You will need to clearly and repeatedly emphasize the length of your program to the VO. In any case, I would recommend your sister's SOA be at least N7-8m though the VO may want to see N10m if s/he assumes your program is four years long.

Also, I have an issue with your assertion that you can get this SAIT BSc in two semesters or two years. I hope you didn't present this ambiguity to the VO. You need to be clear.

I still insist that you read the thread closely, several people have repeated discussed TRV delays such as yours multiple times.

I would recommend you make every aspect of your application as perfect and ambiguity-free as possible.

You just sent me a PM, so I'm responding to this on here so others can benefit.

Most Canadian universities accept 2:1 and above for masters. However uOttawa does accept 2:2, and there may be other schools too. Your aunty may have to email different Computer Science MSc program coordinators to ask them directly.

My frank opinion is that if her bank job is unrelated to computer science, the probability of her getring admitted to a CS MSc program with a 2:2 is very very low (esp given that she's been out of school for ten years). But she should probably email program coordinators to find out directly. A program that may be a good idea for her is the Electronic Business Technologies MSc at uOttawa.

Admission to a PGD program would be more straightforward for her. It shouldn't affect visa processing if she is able to convince the VO why she specifically chose her course and why she is doing a PGD.

thanks alot thesoj

Good morning to everyone and a happy new month, i just discovered a christian college through the cic page but to my suprise i was told by the school(college) that i can apply and get their admission letter without paying a dime, they dont charge for applicantion fee , only security deposit for accomodation is to be paid which is CAD$150 but i went further asking them that i do not plan for thier accomodation, so they replied that i shouldnt pay the security deposit of $150.
According to them, the tuition fee can be paid when i arrive the school in canada

now my question is, how will the canadian embassy see my issue when i apply to them for study visa. will the school be a red flag or will my admission process be seen as a red flag.

the school offers a 3 yr bsc program , diploma and cert program
do i stand a chance in getting thier visa if i go through such admission process.

pLease i need your advice

thanks to everyone

You can apply for TRV without paying a dime! Just make sure you apply early enough! Please can you state the name of the college.

[/quote author=Kenyata post=40489334]Hi all, Is inclusion of Statement of purpose compulsory for paper Visa application? Secondly, can one apply against January now?

SOP is not compulsory. If you don't have anything to explain then u don't have to write anything. It is called letter of explanation, and it is used to explain certain things to the VO. I submitted a letter of explanation in my 2nd app because I submitted the application late (about 5 weeks before the start of my program), and the only thing I explained in the letter was the reason for submitting late, which was as a result of my first visa refusal which was due to insufficient funds. I see some people write the whole biography of their lives in the Letter of Explanation, writing the same information they already filled in the form.....I am lagbaja, the last child out of the 10 children Of temedo bla blah

You dont need that honestly. Except you have things to explain. Maybe you've been working for some time before going for masters, or you're changing field of study or anything u think should be explained, so the VO can understand your situation clearly.

Thanks AyoOluwatoni

The quoted amount is just for the first year. The course is business management but my degree course is political science.. .. quoted cost of living in the admission letter is 10080cad. Pls whats the next line of action after paying the quoted semester fees?
lonzo:

Hello Sandraosas . What pg course is that and is the quoted amount the total sum for the school fees or just for a year tuition. Hope to hear from you.

Thanks

I believe SOJ has done justice to your question. But if I was the one like you asked, I will add the total amount my uncle promised to give me (irrespective of what he has in his account, because what he has in his account may not be available, after all he's not my dad and he's got his responsibilities as well) with the total money I have in my account. That should give the total money available for My Study. which I think should be the sum of Tuition + rooms and board + others + my personal miscellaneous expenses (if any)

good day boss, pls may I have an idea of how the budget I may prepare to submit with my application may look like? I don't even know how to start.

Sorry I wasn't online to reply you on time. I believe thesoj has adequately treated your enquiries even more than I could. But from your stance, it seems you still have some grey areas. It's understandable. I'll still advise that you customise your application to your situation as much as possible. There's no use employing techniques that might end up complicating your app. As per the budget, If preparing a spreadsheet is too complex, explain what(and how you arrived at it) you filled in funds available section of your study permit form in your statement of purpose. Keep your app as simple as possible.
P.S- whenever you seem overwhelmed, take a break and do other things. If you're still unclear with my explanation, you could show the house what you've done so far, I'm sure you'll get help in spotting any loose ends.

Hi nellobaba. According to your estimates and considering it's a masters programme, I believe it should be sufficient. However, it ultimately depends on how you were able to convey this across to the VO and what said VO makes of it. At this juncture, I'll advise that you fill your heart with optimistic thoughts. Que sera sera, Aal izz well.

@thesoj and ayooluwatoni and all... Please help me tackle this
NB : No family is accompanying me and am single... I filled my family form as single and ticked no one is accompanying me... Mistake on part of VO i guess

This is about the first time I'm seeing so much reasons.....mehn, this VO no even fear God, about 8 reasons for you alone?
Really sorry about your delay. Please be sure with God all things are possible, and once He says yes, no VO can say NO. I saw your PM, but I was in dreamland then....I'll get to u asap.
Let's Start Afresh and see how best to tackle all the reasons.
I agree with SOJ's assessment, and may I ask what your definition of a strong SOP is? I mean Letter of Explanation? The VO obviously was not convinced you're seeking to enter Canada to study, and that's basically the work of the SOP/LOE.

They only offer Theological Training courses, my question is, are you going for theological training? Do you have any theological training experience and work here in Nigeria?
Just be careful.

Hi everybody
I just got an admission to lambton college to do a pg course in business management for 2years. The quoted fee for first year is 13360cad while fees due for the first semester is 6800cad. Should i pay the semester fees or the whole session fees and after payment whats the next line of action and which documents do i need for the visa application. I want to apply online. The estimated cost of living for a year quoted on the admission letter is 10080cad. What would my sponsors balance be showing that would be sufficient?
Thanks
