These new generation of musicians whose mentors are governors and businessmen... The other day, Dbanj called Aliko Dangote his mentor when he wanted to start selling his Garri.

During interviews, when asked their sources of inspiration, they mention musicians like Bob Marley, Majek Fashek etc, but later they show up with trending politicians and businessmen as their mentors. Why can't people like Fela, Sunny Ade, Oliver D Coque etc be their mentors since they have chosen to follow their paths?What do governors/businessmen have in common with a singer? Why dont they even consider their respective moms and dads even be their mentors? I bet they would if they were known.
As always, people prefer ready made people.
