I am not suprised. Students of history will know how Nnamdi Azikiwe frustrated the demand of the Niger Delta minorities.

lets use my state Akwa ibom for example..

back in 1998, the capital Uyo was a glorified shithole..but thanks to the efforts of our South South brothers, we got our derivation which was not what we wanted, but we also got a commission to build infrastructure that commision names is NDDC..

now it wont remain at 13% forever, even the Fulanis and the Niger Delta slaves like Rotimi Ameachi know this, we would clamour for more, as long as Buhari ignores the confab report we would cry for more..

so now we are stuck with 13% derivation and an EXTRA Investment Fund into our people and development in the name of NDDC

SS is helpless and ignorant.

Everyone in SS, at least I'll say delta..idk about other groups, are aware what groups fill the job in all oil companies in delta state. We are aware which communities hold the highest block of oil in each field and till date, NONE have done anything about it instead most just whin about it.

Many sit down and create militants to try and get a small portion of what rightfully belongs to each region with zero advancement made. 13% derivation is not even anything to be proud of because with the amount of river pollution, air pollution, etc done in SS over the oil drilling is a huge slap to the groups suffering it.

Not only that, other south south minorities destroy the effort of the other groups seeking to fix their situations.

Ogoni have repeatedly begged to be removed from Nigeria and allowed to govern themselves BY THEMSELVES. The only people deliberately destroying their effort and disregarding them, even though ogoni have experienced the worst in SS, are other southern minorities in River state

The Ndoki and Egbema have repeatedly asked to be moved back to Imo and Abia state in order to reduce the marginalization they receive in River state, the group destroying their effort is yet again the SS minorities of River state.

Let's not forget...all freedom fighters of SS, from Asari, to tompolo, etc are repeatedly attacked by some for fighting for their rights.

The people fighting against those wanting to fix their situation in SS is always been other SS groups.
