Title: INTRO TO DSLR

Who: Anyone who wants to take better photos and master the principles of (digital) photography. This affordable four weeks course is particularly aimed at total beginners, amateurs, aspiring pro photographers, mobile phone photographers, point and shoot camera users, (novice) bloggers, (start up) businesses, and people generally interested in DSLR photography - from young students, graduates, corpers to working adults and parents.
When: Each Saturday of March 2016, 9am to 6pm (4 classes)
Mornings will be dedicated to the lecture and discussion. In the afternoons, the 15 participants will engage in indoor exercises, and be taken out in a private bus to practice within the vicinity.
You will learn: How to fully operate a DSLR camera, how to shoot in manual mode, how to correctly expose and compose an image, how to understand and find good light, how to optimize the camera's features to gain (creative) control, much more and most importantly, how to take photos to match your vision and intention.
Course material will be provided. One hour break. Snacks, lunch and drinks will be served. Certificate of attendance upon completion.

Requirements: DSLR camera (or BRIDGE camera with full manual capabilities)
If you don't have a camera of your own, the studio has THREE entry level NIKON DSLR cameras available to use throughout the course, during each class.
The workshop promises to be a stimulating and engaging four days of learning, shooting and exchanging of creative energy and ideas.
By the end of the course, the 15 participants will leave with a confident understanding of DSLR photography, as well as a collection of photographs that demonstrate their improvement and mastery.

Kiki Melissa Studio (KMS) was established in April 2013 to offer a modern and affordable photography studio rental facility in Ikoyi. Since its opening, the studio has successfully garnered the attention and patronage of many photographers and creatives of all levels and kinds in Lagos. With a goal to educate more people about photography as a skill and creative outlet to enrich their personal lives or as a professional prospect, henceforward, the studio aims to run a number of very practical introductory workshops per year beginning from 2016.
