if u don't have the idea then go learn it , its gonna cost u a lot to learn it . after learning how to produce paint, buy manual mixers , register ur company and start producing. firstly star by lookin for contract to paint houses
when u get contract , take ur pigments to the site, produce the paint and call painters to do the painting.

bread, I don't much about this. but producing poor man bread will sale like pussy. 30naira size 50 naira, 100 and above. poor people don't want feast , they want size.

My idea for you: Production is profitable in Nigeria if you know people's need; what I mean is, in your area/state what do you think you can give into the market to change the current value?

EG: I am aspiring and planning to invest in production of daily used items in more professional ways like it comes from UK but it is 9ja made. That's just example for you. You can even write 'formulated in USA'

Now, with the capital you are talking about, I will suggest you go into production of daily used items like air freshener, liquid bath soap, Izal, Dettol etc....

Or you invest in bread production, look; let your targeted customers be the poor, give them a little high quality and quantity than that of the existence... I don't really know about bread production. But make your products more unique.

How can you compete in the soap industry in Nigeria with N1m, money that isn't even enough for a 5 minute Advert on AIT (Marketing).

Do NOT go into any industry that attracts high and sophisticated MARKETING. Let me give you an instance, with N2 Billion, you will still fail in the cement industry even if you have access to industrial manpower and physical on-site infrastructure. The word "DANGOTE" has already been imprinted into the market. You can't just beat him easily in terms of pricing strategy, competitiveness, value-creation, market penetration (e.g. Dangote already has 3-PLs even in the remote places, and all his channel intermediaries are intact! i.e., wholesalers, retailers, distributors, etc.)

I know you're not planning to build a Cement factory, but that's just an analogy that applies to any industry.

Now to your question. With N1.5m, the first thing that comes to mind is any business that would enable you boycott the sophistication and expenses of the intermediaries. Someone mentioned Paint Industry, its a 'good idea' that would give you nothing but a convenient FAILURE with N1.5m.

Here are my recommendations:

2. Oil (Palm) Industry


I recommended these because it require minimal logistics, marketing, and packaging. All you need is a good competitive business plan worthy enough to woo your buyers/retailers. There is no monopoly in the business. Everybody just buy oil and garri, as far as a consumer is concerned, the producer is valueless. This should be your focus.
