First,, under the law, since there is no CONTRACT saying "I would marry you if you give me x,y,z amount" ..... that money is considered a GIFT!
(Notice l said "under the Law .... and not under some morality code!)

So, she cannot get any redress as far as that money is concerned.
It is even not only dubious, but dangerous to try to "buy love"! What if he married her today and starts playing "away" tomorrow, will we start blaming the man when infact, he was "bought" into the marriage"?

Secondly, Marriage is a FREEWILL DECISION!
You cant force someone to marry you.
Itis against any know moral or ethical code.
If he/she does not want to marry you because they dont love you.... just move on and look for someone else.

In this particular case, only the "Assault" charge is 'hearable' in court and l bet if he had a good Lawyer, he can do the following in court:

1.) Deny he assaulted her - if he will win this will depend on what evidence she can tender to prove he assaulted her

2.) Plead AGGRAVATION and SELF-DEFENCE - He has to show that the "fight" took place in his own home and that she was the one who came to pester and assault him therein, while all he did was defend himself. Already, a Motive for such action has established itself.

3.) Counter-Sue her immediately and let both suits be heard simultaneously - He would claim she actually was the one who assaulted him (and its obvious she has a MOTIVE to do that) when he refused to honor her request for "forced marriage"! grin

If l were his Lawyer, l will start with option 3, at the end of the day, the Judge, in order not to jail her for assault, will set both parties free! undecided

Case closed!

All these "end time" relationships sef.
Is it that difficult to attract "genuine love", .......that you have to use money to buy a guy over?
Dont spend your money on a Lady or Guy just because yoy think that would make them love you...... its can only be temporary at best

BTW: I hope those Policemen who charged this matter to court are not "eating out of the Pot" of the complainant because they should have advised her that it is a D.O.D case!

Go and read the story of the South Africa celebrity who is sentenced to life imprisonment just this yesterday, in South Africa.

Bathing someone with Acid because they chose not to marry you is a very criminal offence and you will only have wasted your own life, in a case of double jeaopardy, when there could be a better guy out there whom God has reserved for you

BTW: Whom do you think wiill be the first suspect, when such acid attack happens? His sister or his "jilted" former Girl friend?
