OP, it's called investigative journalism. as far as Nigeria is concerned, no one does it better than SR, and this is why some people hate SR, especially the PDP wailers.

l The same way Boko Haram gets its information about the security forces from insider. There is no secret service in Nigeria, if we were to go to war with another nation all they need is bribe a few moles in the so called SSS and viola... Isn't this a country where the president has a closed door meeting and the next day newspapers are reporting what he discussed. Because we like what they are saying now we are all clapping.
