Well I am totally for those igbos following the right channels & most importantly the right wordings to voice their beliefs even though I think it'll come to nothing.... but I respect people like that. Pro-biafrans have been on NL for a while now and no one cared about what they did because they mostly stuck to the proper way of doing things & respected the peace here. But you'll agree with me that 99% of Pro-biafrans on NL right now have absolutely no regard for proper conduct and I consider Seun's outlawing of the whole topic to be out of necessity.
So in the end I think we only hold slightly different views on how total the ban should have been.
And I was pleasantly surprised by ur gorgeous civility grin...most people will go on the offensive if ur view doesn't tally with theirs.
Yeah. Slightly different views and that's okay. Nice talking to you.

Nnaa I disagree with you on Rule 9. (1) Nairaland should not be a platform for the propagation of subversive literature. 2). Nairaland shouldn't be used to promote hate speech. 3) Some utterances were becoming seditious. 4) IPOB protests threatened social order and contributed to violence. Catalonia didn't kill anybody. There should be civilized ways of agitation.
All you listed are captured in the original post. That some promoters' mode of operation is uncivilised does not make the agitation illegitimate or inappropriate. Nairaland should rather ensure that hateful/seditious/malicious content are blocked or hidden but not to ban the agitation entirely.

My brother, no social medium have I seen such. In fact, this is a slap against social justice and people's right. As a forum, Nairaland shouldn't be contravening fundamental principles.

This move by Mr Seun is uncalled for and not fair. I personally do not believe in the current agitation for the secession of Biafra, however, I strongly believe Nairaland should be an open platform where we should all be free to analyse our issues and therefore weigh arguements on the superiority of logic and common sense.

Oga Seun has just stylishly activated his own anti-social media bill in his own capacity. I urge you to review this rule or I'll rather leave this to the test of time.

I passed through Onitsha on December 2 and you will review your position if you did. I counted nine burnt trucks. Thousands of northerners were trooping into Delta State; running for dear lives. Seemingly uninformed youths mounted road blocks, searching for people of northern descent. That's not social debate. You'd notice that Nairaland was used as a mobilization platform by the agitators. I was in Enugu for a week and I can tell you that despite the popularity of the Biafra agitation amongst the youths, a referendum will defeat the quest.

No one denied that it is his site. No one is threatening fire and brimstone either! I'm only pointing out that the amended rule is anti-democratic and inappropriate. A site like Nairaland that pride as a social forum can't come up with anti-social and anti-democratic rule.
Well NL just did what are you going to do about it ?

Will you be the one paying the Mod that will be supervising banning and monitoring the countless Biafra thread ?

That's usually how it starts, how can you call someone vagabond and expect him to be quiet.

What 'am yet to understand is why Seun and Mynd44 would ban Biafra promoters but allow Nairalanders to castigate Biafra. This 21 century, I seriously think we should be more civilised than this. I know you don't like igbos but at least use a fairer means to express you hate.

I cannot tell you, Seun or Mynd44 how to run this forum but I believe strongly in fairness, and our constitution promotes fairness, and freedom of expression. If your rule 9 is only against Biafra promoters, while Anti-biafra goes free, then it's gravely wrong, and it will back fire on your Nairaland business.

The thread on federal staff by state of origin, which is on the front page now, is filled with people castigating Biafra. I haven't seen any warning, or ban or hidden posts.

In as much as people are not required to pay a subscription fee before accessing this website, I'm afraid the governance and rules of engagement here are at the sole discretion of the Owner of the site, Seun.

I'd recommend that those who have concerns about social justice and tenets of democracy should accept swift justice by exiting nairaland for good. Why subject yourself to "social injustice and undemocratic tenets" when you have the freedom to remove yourself from the so-called injustice.

Abi you people are sadists or eran iya ni? embarassed

Online Tout.

Ballmer:
Any Yoruba that apologise to any Igbo on whatever pretence rational or irrational is a vagabond. Am personally waiting to see their worse. Simply because others do not beat their chest like the igbos does not mean they do not own a chest they can beat.

The rule stay till the entire Igbo race under take a referendum n tender unreserved apology never to instigate hate, abuse or insult or disrespect Nigerians on NL.

In fact for Seun to accept their plea, their father n grand feather must postrate flat on their stomach with their tail btw the leg n plead for mercy.

With that Igbo would understand we can all be irritational others just make use of their own senses while they chose to be senseless. Let see who will bend first.

Amadioha fire any one that cry marginalisation first among the tribes.

Why are you even so bitter? Are you Seun? Do think readers will take your opinion when present it like a tout?

"Amadioha should fire igbos if they cry marginalisation"

What is your business with what we say, are you federal government?

oh la la la

OP can you go to someones property and insist on your freedom of speech?

If You say in your house everyone should be in bed by 10 yet a guest came in and insists he must walk around your house after 10 because you restrict his freedom of movement
Or you want to enter a club and the owner turns you back for whatever reason. Do you tell him he violated your right?

This is a porivate property

There are several websites pro-Biafra. They can go there

The owner say he no want. Simply go to your profile, scroll down and deactivate unless you be masochist

Oh....so Biafra agitators are the deluded ones? Hypocrite! When facebook stood with France on the terrorist attack, why did you and your type complain about they not doing the same for Nigeria? For God sake this is a social media forum, for the fact that biafrans are here should even boost NAIRALAND'S NEUTRALITY . it gives everyone a voice. Idiots Like you have suddenly found your voice to call for the silencing of the voices of others.
