Re: The Sea Turtle A Nairalander Saved At Chevron Roundabout by Nobody: 8:52pm On Dec 11, 2015
You really tried. Its only a Rich man that can have that time and resources to negotiate the release of an animal when many poor people are looking for someone to negotiate them out of poverty.

The country is so bad that animals are not even safe in the zoo. A lion was killed last week in a zoo in jos because of one small mistake it made. Don't be surprise that if you go back one month after to check on your turtle and you were told one dasuki used it for pepper soup.

Long story shot, it doesn't mean that should have compassion afterall " the whole creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God" we must continue to show love to all creation.

So the tax payers money used to feed them is not enough?

Topic: are we this hungry in this country that any animal that is so unfortunate to find itself close to human habitat is used as meat at once?

Stop seeing it like that, in as much as people in IDP camps need rice and other things, the turtle too deserves to survive...

dnt just kill animals just because you don't understand thier language and feel they deserve to die or are meant for food only

I had tears in my eyes to see that someone somehow showed compassion to a poor sea turtle.

Weekly,I've been screaming against the incessant killings of animals as many nairalanders find joy to post pictures of how they butchered them, but Nigerians are so cruel to animals they don't understand or know.

Thanks OP,you did a fantastic job.

We need to consider that these animals that are killed senselessly are precious and we must stop activities that endanger them. They are an important asset to our ecosystem.Let's save lives, starting with the animals around us.

You are the one that is very stupid and irredeemably lost. You were fed a story of how a some persons paid N17, 000 ransom for a turtle and took the pains to return it to a 'paradise'. Now I ask you, in all their search for that 'paradise' and eventual return home is it not possible that they could have driven by a homeless kid, an infirm, a stranded fellow, or a tired old mama weighed down by her wares? If you say no, then I ask another question, are there no orphanage homes around that could make use of N17, 000? How many people are stranded in the hospitals for not being able to pay discharge bills?
I don't kill animals, except snakes. But I hate this hypocritical attitude humans display in pretence at sophistication

He has saved a turtle, you go ahead and save the IDP campers too, then come post your deed on nairaland and the whole community will also clap for you.

An acre to a man is enough to rid the country off most ills.
Let each man look-out for those within an acre around him

lucky turtle.
very lucky it didn't jam a hungry nairalander, it would have been cooling down in his small intestine and that of his kins men
Not just hungry men, even some men in Jeep will salivate on sighting the animal (pepper soup things)
