Let's watch and see how next year will look like.. The clock is indeed ticking... From next year, that excuse that PDP wrecked the country will no longer be acceptable by both PDP and APC fans..

GMB doesn't understand the fierce urgency of now. He's not charting any course for the country. He said he would plug in loop holes to increase national budget, turns he plans to borrow to finance the budget. Increasing our by a whopping 50% by a man who has no plans on how to run the country is going to saddle our generation with a lot of debt when there is nothing to show for it. Wolves like Amechi, Fashola and their cronies are going to pillage these funds and Nigerians will get stuck with bill for years.. GMB is on course to equal or beat GEJ's worst record. Naija is toast!!

Re: Buhari, The Clock Is Ticking - PUNCH by Rawani: 8:30am On Dec 12, 2015
Jonathan failed to deliver the 2nd Niger Bridge to the SE, failed to develop or clean up his own SS and marginalized the SW which he disregarded till the elections.

Jonathan failed the North, and shot himself in the foot by establishing almajiri schools, when the almajiri system is an ideology (twisted) and not a result of lack of public schools. He failed to develop its solid mineral potentials and empowered thugs to insult the region instead.

Jonathan failed to solve the electricity problem which we have inherited, and failed to restore the refineries and instead wasted billions of dollars in scam off-shore processing agreements which Diezani and co. used to fleece this country, ultimately causing perennial fuel scarcities all through his tenure. The aftermath is what we live with today.

Jonathan failed to diversify our economy from oil in the time of oil-price boom, and emptied our foreign reserves through a combination of corruption and incapacity to lead which ended in him being tricked by his governors to share the SWF. The DIRECT aftermath of these are the economic troubles we are facing today under low oil prices, and high exchange rates which our efforts to control is resulting in our ejection from bond indexes.

Jonathan supervised the looting and mismanagement of of the defence budget through his aides (Dasuki n co.) which seriously hampered the fight against BH, and resulted in the loss of thousands of lives. The failure to fight the terrorists with political will and sincerity, resulted in their blossoming and is the reason we are still fighting them today.

You see, while we are not blind to the realities that face us today, its is an insult to conscience, logic and common sense for the same set of people that wanted all of the above and more to continue till 2019, to come and pontificate about good governance while condemning a President that inherited these challenges just six months ago.

Put simply, you lack the moral capital to admonish or condemn Buhari or Buharists.

Have a nice day.

MizMyColi, don't worry APC/BUHARI has a plan: they want to deteriorate the car - Nigeria - that they think PDP/GEJ damaged further before they can start overhaul repairs.

This is the bitter truth. Bubu is been extremely busy jetting around the globe. Sit at home for atleast 90 days and start putting things in order. Telling your ministers to give you weekly progress reports, and know they are earning their money. There is nothing wrong with sacking a minister if found wanting...I read in one of Steve Jobs book: 'My biggest priority in Apple is to put the best people in every department of Apple, and to ensure they know I want their BEST at every single moment!'
Baba should just stop this trips, its yeilded little or nothing. China and the US dont give a rat a$$ about us. They wont stop Bokoharam, they wont refund looted funds, they wont sell us weapons, they wont freeze corrupt politicians assets that is buttering their economy, because they dont even care about a country called Nigeria...its all up to us to fight our demons and battles.
point of correction, Government is the only demon we have in nigeria

By the time it is February or April next year, all those supporting buhari performance now and calling us his critics wailers or trash like that will understand better when the realities and effect of buhari lackluster attitude and sluggishness takes full effects on their daily lives. Then they will know that a stitch in times does truly saves nine.

The Buhari I campaigned and voted for will more than deliver in less than 4yrs.

The mess left behind by the previous government is just too enormous for some to see that Nigeria under Buhari is forging a new path and pain stakingly rebuilding Nigeria from the ruins and rubbles PDP reduced it.

Quote me,I have an absolute and unshakable trust and confidence in Buhari.
Sigh.... me too, but the preasure on masses is geting much no money

A good and objective editorial. However, all what have been said in the write up about timeliness and need to deliver, PMB and his team are very much aware of it.

With an expansionary fiscal policy to be implemented next year the economy will surely pick up and set in motion for recovery. Thus, a return of capital flight and economic prosperity would begin to be experience.

PMB will not disappoint God willing.

The Punch, in this objective editorial made me feel a ray of hope for Nigerian Journalism.

The gave all the punches to the right parts. The PDP of old was not spared either.

However, Buhari was worst hit.
Let's keep praying for the president. The problems he inherited have turned out to be more than previously thought.

[quote author=chinchum post=40922780]Nigeria is in tough times, it is a mono economy that is primarily oil based, oil is now 35usd/barrel,we are in oil doom a lot of things will suffer, and i predict that the next 6 months we will still face challenging and tough period. That some people choose to gloat over the situation and attribute the current crisis as to because Buhari won at the presidential polls is the highest unit of pseudo intelligence. The current govt will strive to manage this trying times, and if it does it well, which i believe it will, the next 6-9 months, we will gradually get out of the quagmire.

The previous govt had all the opportunity to made a whole lot of difference in an oil boom, but it flunked, it is now in the past. The 2016 budget , the first of this new govt is on its way, the ministers are less than 30 days, but they are showing quite promising signs.

Woe betides any one who wants this current govt to fail, because GEJ lost at the polls angry >

And you forgot he said he will stabilize oil price...empty promises.
And the ministers and legislators still receive wardrobe allowance while they want to reduce the minimum wage cause naija is broke.
so it takes 8 months to clean a mess smh.

Just wait till next year march and April then you will understand fully the meaning of pressure. Everyone is warning Nigeria about an impending economic doom and that your government just has 3 to 4 weeks to start putting things after wasting 8 months virtually doing nothing,he spent almost 6 months choosing 36 ministers out of HIS OWN PARTY MEMBERS and all these while the dollar kept losing it value and oil prices kept going down. Modern day economics waits for no one but the dullard is behaving as if he controls the it like the cows in his farms, unfortunately It is the masses that will suffer ,go hungry, starve.it is the masses that will be sacked and taxed heavily,it is the masses that will bear the full brunt of the dullard sluggishness. Buhari will never go hungry likewise his children and neither will fashola or amaechi be jobless or starve .it the people that keep on shouting change change even when it is glaringly clear that the change the dullard is bringing is a negative one. Right now the dollars is 260 and it will still rise to 300 naira to 1 dollars which means massive job cuts and more ashewos too anyway. So keep hoping for 4 years without saying your mind and by demanding for the dullard to stop behaving like a Mario and get serious. Every single economic body has been giving Nigeria serious warnings about next year if the dullard doesn't step up.

The PDP of old?
What PDP are the present day supporters of Dokpesi?

PDP cannot change from its criminal mafia identify.

In due time change will move from the negative axis into the positive axis of the Cartesian.

The problem is that your PDP took us as far as an enemy of the state could into the extreme of the negative. We are steadily moving out, but yet to arrive at the origin with a positive outlook.

This crude oil sef.... As there is no longer any profit forthcoming, drilling companies will most likely stop drilling and that is when it will dawn on Booooohari that Nigeria can't depend solely on Oil anymore.

Finance minister, instead of thinking up strategies is in her office eating shaki, kponmo and orisirisi (a verified source revealed).

Let them continue, shebi Nigerians are beginning to open eye small small...when e open finish, they will see exactly what we are in for.

He has been aspiring for the post for the past 13 years and yet he never knew the nation problems or how to tackle them?
He never anticipated the problems but yet he even called ppl out to shed innocent blood because he wanted to become the president and even threatened bloodshed of innocent lives?
He never anticipated the huge problems and yet he was giving promises during campaigning?
So tell me precisely ,what did he actually anticipated ?
Which means we should equally expect that he doesn't know the full implications of all his actions now and maybe that is even why he intends to borrow 1.9 trillion naira for next year budget with anticipating what will be its negative effects on the masses in future and the nation.

When u av oil at 38dollars per barrel u don't start with any silly reform.

The first thing is to block wastage and fight any leakages (corruption)

Is the writer aware that GEJ did budget for the year with 75dollars per barrel as bench mark ?
