Hello,
I've been thinking of the idea of using motorcycles as taxis in Lagos. I mean good power bikes with back rest and protective gear for the rider and passenger too.

Customers will call in to book for a ride.

Benefits :
Cheaper than regular cabc
Faster. Will help to avoid Lagos traffic.
Attention to safety
Well trained professional riders

Do you think this is viable in Lagos?
Will you pay for this service?

A Cycle Courier Service makes more sense.
The government doesn't like motorcycle taxis.

Are you absolutely sure? Have you read the 2012 state traffic law?
I have and from what I can see there is a chance.

Commercial motorbikes were banned for two major reasons:
Excessive accident rate. They are used for quick getaway by urban bandits.
I don't think the bikers are to blame. I think cars are used to knocking against each other so much that they simply find bikes easier to knock over. sad
Also, If thieves cant use motorbikes, they will use small cars. Simple.

I am trying my best to imagine a harried executive running to meet you at the door, donning a crash helmet, and Vroom..vroom to his destination.

Sadly, I will not be a customer to your service: I dread approaching a junction on a motorbike, My biker might slow down, I can't say the same for other vehicles.
