FG Declares Dec 25, 26, Jan 1 As Public Holidays by Nobody: 11:02am On Dec 17, 2015

Federal government last night declared December 25 and 26 as public holidays to mark Christmas while January 1 2016 has also been declared a public holiday.

Since 26 is on Saturday, Monday should have been included, then the public holiday will now be Friday and Monday for Christmas, that's the way it has been done lipsrsealed

anyway, we are closing tomorrow in my office, to resume January grin

I don't understand this, 26th is a Saturday so why is it being declared as a holiday huh

What I expected to read was FG declares 25th & 28th Dec as public holidays.

For those 3 days, the average poor salary earners will spend more than 50% of their December salary! Don't belong in that class. Loose spenders always end up in tight corners.

It's Christ's birthday. But Him a gift, express some gratitude, but don't be broke because of it.

This news is incomplete.
Public holiday will be three days to include Maulud holiday, Christmas and boxing day holidays.

It is incomplete because the news ought to have stated who made the statement on behalf of the FG, which typically is the office of the ministry of Interior but the news just told us what we already know not even knowing that there's going to be Maulud holiday on Wednesday or Thursday preceding the Friday of Christmas.
