raumdeuter:this is a completely pointless post because Mourinho's character is not the reason why he was fired. Just as Pellegrinil,Ancelotti and co's niceness have not prevented them from the sack. Why? Because even though the manager is the least connected member of the team to on pitch results, it's easier to replace him and hope for success borne by change, than it is to sack the player who is actually underperforming on the pitch. That's player power in a nutshell. |

raumdeuter:Majority do but its seems its only in Chelsea and Madrid this frequently happens. Two or three palyers have issues with the manager and boom! he has to be sacked becos its easier |

tng:How many cups in the 100 years history of the club before Roman came? United, Arsenal and Liverpool were winning the league and some the Champions league and you are talking of FA cup. I used to be ashamed to admit that money helped us get lot's of trophies but not anymore. Nobody talks of Madrid which spend hundreds of millions every season to compete and yet still come out second best. I like the Roman philosophy - spend the money but you must bring results. |

Nihilist:You just alluded that its Player power that got him fired and its because the players were at odds with his personalty abi did he sleep with their wife ni? So his character would be a reason he is fighting with the same players that should get him results either in Madrid or at Chelsea Coaches get sacked for various reasons, Some for result, some for clashing with management, some for not being fine enough or for coming from a poor background But it seem Mourinho is the only one getting sacked for player sabotage every time. If you are getting fired from multiple workplace and you claim your colleagues dont like you at Office A, your colleagues dont like you at office B and C then its your character shikena |

Nihilist:Let me tell you what will happen should Jose take the job at United next season. He will have 200% of the board's support. He will be allowed to spend 100s of millions. He will spend 100s of millions of one-time wonders, work-horses and average Joes. These average Joes will run into the ground for him. The will win the league. United fans will be happy winning the league again, being consistent at the top. Compared to where they have been in recent years, it's glory days again. He will organize them at back the back. They will be ultra defensive and admirable but as always, very lacklustre going forward. He will manage to convince them pragmatism wins. He will win the hearts of some. The next season, the fights will begin. He will take a pop at Wenger and now Chelsea. He will fight the media, the referees and anyone in between, the moment they lose. Some of his fans will still like him, some will stop. He will park the bus against Chelsea, City, Arsenal. This is where the anger will begin. Die-hard United fans will crave expansive football once again. He will not change. He will not bring any young player through, the work horses will start to fail. Blaming will begin. He probably finishes the season winning the league again. Third season, full blown fight against everyone. The workhorses (the usual 11 - the untouchables) stop performing. United fans demand better football to the eye, despite just winning the league. More public fights. Blames. Name calling. Fans of other clubs start to hate United because of JM. People call them classless. United's PR suffers a blow. Boards' backing drops to 70% . . . . Beginning of the end. Nihilist, what do you think will happen with Jose when he gets to United? Remember that this will a club not notorious for undermining their manager. |

sephia:Yes I say FA Cup because its a trophy and that negates your earlier comment. Those clubs were winning leagues and what not then because they were the it clubs of the time. True Roman's money has brought success but like you said you can still spend so much and not achieve desired results a la Madrid so its a two way street. |

[b] Mourinho has turned champions into chumps. Eden Hazard, last season’s playerof the year, has failed to score in 27 games. Diego Costa has forgotten where the goal is, Cesc Fabregas could barely spell the word assist at present and stalwarts like John Terry, Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic look like washed up has-beens.[ /b] Journalist too get bad mouth ![]() |

raumdeuter:If Jose is incompetent, then Carlo is incompetent, and all the other managers who have been at Madrid and Barca in recent years are incompetent. Football is an extremely cynical business. Ched Evans is a convicted rapist who was courted by several clubs until the relentless media pressure took its toll. Luis Suarez racially abused a player but his club came out to print T-Shirts in support. He then tried to eat two other players but still got signed for a record deal by Barca...even when he was ineligible to play for months. Joey Barton beat someone up and went to jail. He has stubbed a cigar out in someone's eye before...he still continues to get jobs. His current employers are Burnley who h previously dissed on Twitter. Steven Gerrard has beaten up a man in a pub before for refusing to change the music. Moyes beat up another one. Adam Johnson is facing statutory ra per charges. Titus Bramble has as well. Ravel Morisson is a gangbanger. Alan Pardew has headbutted a Hull city Player. One of the Stoke City ex-players(black Jamaican dude can't remember his name) used to slap his teammates. Vardy used racist Language. Di Canio is a fascist. John Terry was racist and fvcked his teammate's wife. Ibrahimovic had fought with nearly every one of his managers...As has Balotelli I could go on and on Didn't stop any them from finding new employers. Ferguson in particular sued his fellow board member to court, had public feuds with several of his own players, and opened Beckham's head with football boot. If you think likeability counts a jot in football, then you are sleeping on a bicycle. Player power at big clubs is the biggest enemy to a manager. Why is it that the same jobs keep getting vacant and the same managers keep rotating around the same hot seats? The best a manager at that level can do is hope that his players listen to him...Ronaldo has probably scored 1 or 2 free kicks in his last 50 attempts, yet reports are coming in that he stormed out of a meeting where Benitez asked him to undergo freekick studies... |

Ibime:Hiddink won the FA cup Ancellotti won the league and FA cup Benitez won UEFA cup Di Matteo won the Champions league All these in less than 7years. Nothing JM did others didn't so and some more. I still believe without money JM would have won nothing. Nobody should mention Porto abeg. Flukes happen. |
