FOR THOSE OF US ASKING ABOUT NYSC LIFE IN ENUGU, HERE ARE SOME SAMPLED COMMENTS MADE BY OUR PREDECESSORS. ENJOY.

'Enugu state is a very nice place to serve. Be ready to meet a funny but no nonsense RSM at the orientation camp; meet one funny man who always wear red cross apron (I call him national biggle), be ready to face general punishments during the morning meditation. Above all, you will always enjoy the 3rd week more than the first and second. Please note that, enugu camp no dey do camp fire night. Have a safe trip down to Awgu, enugu state nysc orientation camp.'


'Enugu is a nice place to be. if u want to be a beneficiary of the 10k state allowee, u must serve in a govt sch, local govt or ministry.
ACCOMMODATION is on d high side, i.e for those posted to Enugu town, unless u can stay in a family house (NCCF OR A CHURCH lodge). the ministries and local govt will not gv u any accommodation bt u wuld'nt hv much work to do there. some state schs in town hv accommodation bt its nt usually enough. bt in less developed places, ur accommodation is sure with foam.
PLS after collecting ur posting letter in camp, dnt rush to join nccf to their family house or even d local govt u are posted to because they will all bring busses to convey u. try check for d sch u are posted to because they will also be there to pick u and take u to ur lodge. and it will be less stressful for u since u will get ur acceptance letter frm them and proceed to NYSC secretariat in ur LGA d nxt day for ur final clearance. the advantage is that while others are busy looking for dia ppa to collect acceptance letter, u wil be at d secretariat doing ur final clearance.
WATER SUPPLY is sometimes a problem in some areas in enugu bt there are WELL where u can fetch or buy water frm.
If u can overcome the accommodation problem in enugu town, i bet u, u will enjoy COAL CITY (042 m). bt if u cant pls dnt lobby for town. the less developed areas are ur rescue. and the areas are not as remote as u are imagining except UZO-UWANI LGA. my family reside at ENUGU TOWN bt i decided to serve in a less developed area, OJI RIVER LGA. YES, AM A Jesus CORPER

'the awgu camp is a very hilly place esp the girls hostel that is situated on top of d hill. water supply was moderate. carry enough money to eat from mammy incase u dont enjoy d food from the refectory but sundays food is always slightly better. expect punishments during morning meditation esp wen dere is noise. the highest they will do is ask you to sit on the rain sand with your new white vest and short.
the soldiers there werent over strict. everything here was moderate. il advise you buy drugs bc along the line u may develop cold or malaria.'
