The Revenant .

DiCaprio is one hell of an actor,he put on an awesome performance, his dedication to the role was glaring.
Guy, nawa for you o. The release date is December 25 na. How did you see the movie already?

Kk, was it you that mentioned the books " a song of ice and fire"?
Really enjoyed it, it did give more details about the series. The issue is that the stories had both taken different directions. But I like the direction the book took better.
No,it wasn't me dat mentioned it

I applaud him,the sacrifices he made, even going out of his own comfort zone just to portray the character 'Glass'.

You recall the scene in which he ate a raw Bison meat ? DiCaprio actually did eat the raw meat(that might not mean much until you realise that Leonardo DiCaprio in real life is a VEGETARIAN shocked ,so him doing that for the sake of being in character is just,,,,,,wow, the dude is amazing).
Oscar Bait right there smiley .
Nicolas Cage actually ate the cockroach in a scene in Vampire's Kiss, it took three takes - yes, he ate 3 cockroaches...

Most spy films nowadays are generally unrealistic .
Maybe since non of them can come up with something near or better than the Bourne series.

Even the spy books I read sef are no where near.
True, some are laughable, although fans tend to overlook d realism of it and only enjoy d humour and fun dat comes with it

The Man from U.N.C.L.E is certainly one of the most stylish films I've ever seen & also probably the most stylish [vanilla] film Guy Richie has ever directed, but it didn't really change the spy genre. Bearing in mind, I've actually watched the original tv series (I'm not that old,I just liked really old stuff, I used to live on TCM AND Cartoon Network when I was younger) which I liked. I think I really liked the film because I liked the actors and it does have potential. Although, I did find it odd that a Brit was playing an American, an American was playing a Russian, a Swede was playing a German and Hugh Grant playing Hugh Grant for 10 minutes. Plus, Armie Hammer will forever be a weird name, regardless of how many times I see or hear it.

Really? Ah,the length in which an actor would go. I think what really made DiCaprio stand out is that he went against his own morals, most Vegetarians are so strict to their diet,on no circumstance do they compromise, but Leo on the sake of being in character actually did.

Glad you clarified that out,cus I was actually wondering after reading "I've actually watched the original tv series" I was like woah how old are you Miss? cheesy

The chemistry dynamic b/w Henry and Hammer was great, fun to watch. Though I agree with you it was awkward watching the actors playing characters of different nationalities.
I enjoyed the movie,Henry Cavill was great,I never thought I would ever like him after the God awful 'Man Of Steel',but wow he really did impress me.

Merry Xmas

I really enjoyed old black and white films, The Maltese Falcon being one my favourite films, along with Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (that wasn't B&W), I even got my sister into the latter film. That's where I first heard the word "mendacity". I'll stop now before I start waxing all poetic about musicals, Humphrey Bogart and Gene Kelly. I even watched some episodes of the original Mission Impossible...

Is it wrong, that I kept hoping he'd take his shirt off and leave it off for the whole duration of the film? Henry Cavill looks like a proper rugby man, he really does have the body of superman and can also pull the gentle giant trope when needed. After watching Ex Machina, I'd watch Alicia Vikander in anything, if I remember correctly I already did, she was in the disappointment that was seventh son (I can't remember the rest of the name).

Merry Christmas to you too and to you all.

UPDATE: Richard E. Grant, a British actor, who's a teetotaller (doesn't drink a drop of alcohol, plus he actually has a medical condition) basically played a drunk, Whitnall in Whitnall & I. He went all in and drank like a fish to get the experience. Although, the director did have a hand in that, but he still agreed.

Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nobody: 1:31pm On Dec 25, 2015
15. The Cobbler
Why Critics Hated It: Because how does Tom
McCarthy (The Station Agent, The Visitor) direct
Adam Sandler in a movie and it turns out to be
one of the worst of the comedian’s career?
Expectations were fairly high that this might be a
comeback vehicle for Sandler, another Punch
Drunk Love or Reign Over Me, but instead it
takes a mildly novel, playful premise (“what
would happen if you could literally walk a mile in
someone else’s shoes?”) and runs it into the
ground with a blandly directed, unfunny script
which does Sandler and a hilariously mis-utilised
Dustin Hoffman no favours at all.
In fairness to Sandler, he’s not at all the reason
for its failure: ironically that rests pretty much
solely with McCarthy, who funnily enough is now
a front-runner for next year’s Best Director Oscar
with his new movie, Spotlight.
More than merely offensive or bad, The Cobbler
was dull, its worst crime of all.

Not Another Happy Ending.
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nobody: 1:38pm On Dec 25, 2015
14. The Forger Why Critics Hated It: Here’s a movie that just doesn’t know what it wants to be: it aspires to be a slick art heist, a family drama and a cancer- driven tear-jerker all at the same time, and unsurprisingly succeeds at being none. John Travolta gives a somnambulant performance in the lead role, though some light relief does emerge whenever the camera focuses on his blatantly fake hair. Great actors like Christopher Plummer, Jennifer Ehle and Tye Sheridan are meanwhile pretty much hung out to dry here without a scrap of good material to work from. It never feels especially authentic or like anyone involved is trying much, and so aside from Travolta’s hilarious hairdo, you won’t remember much of it a week later.

Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nobody: 1:38pm On Dec 25, 2015
13. Hitman: Agent 47
Why Critics Hated It: As if rebooting a
“franchise” critics didn’t like the first time wasn’t
bad enough (the 2007 original scored just 14%),
this second attempt at the classic video game
series still didn’t get it right, losing the essence
of the titular character amid brainless, over-the-
top action loaded with terrible CGI, bad acting
and hilariously blatant product placement.
This is exactly the reason why video game
movies never get good reviews, because whether
or not you’re a fan of the source material, they
treat the audience with sheer contempt. It
borders on incoherence and isn’t even satisfying
on a visceral level because all the gunplay and
big ‘splosions are haphazardly edited and soaked
in crappy visual effects.

I don't dig Old tv shows that much, maybe because I'm so in with the new age I can't bare to ignore the cheesy factors that comes with it..

Dang,I guess that's one of the reason I probably disliked him cheesy ,he's got the perfect body likened to a greek god . MOS was nothing to write home about, but damn he did get the Superman physique right,no muscle pad in the suit, just sheer muscles.

After watching Ex Machina, I'd watch Alicia Vikander in anything, if I remember correctly I already did, she was in the disappointment that was seventh son (I can't remember the rest of the name).

Woah ,that's a bit extreme,I can tell the director was a bit pushy.
On no circumstance would I put my health at risk just for a movie gig.
Isn't there some kinda law against that? Directors making actors do things that might be a threat to their health?

Home: I actually enjoyed d movie, maybe some animation movies don't just appeal to most folks.
Genysis: With all due respect to my man, Arnold Swazniggar (pardon my spelling),dat movie doesn't cut it at all, terrible plot and execution despite d hype dat was built around d film. The time travelling (going back and forth) too made it a bit complicated
, at a point I was lost In d movie.
Scotch Trials: To me I think d movie is ok, at least better dan the first one dat came out last year (2014), it was great and I'm looking forward to d next and probably d final chapter.
Creed: Haven't watched it but I saw dat d movie has a very high imdb rating of 8/10, so give it a try.
Mocking Jay: Chai I love Hunger games, d first one(2012) and the Catching Fire (2013), but this Mocking Jay (part 1 and 2) finally made a mockery of d whole franchise, honestly. The movie just dull like d peace of d graveyard (especially d part 2), hardly entertaining, I don't know why d producers decided to end d franchise dat way. And why splitting it to 2 parts when
it could easily have been fitted into one whole movie. I see no reason other than "greed" (more money from d fans)
American Ultra: I haven't watched it yet, although I downloaded it and it's still in my PC, just give it a try, I'll do same.
