A Quick Survey On Monthly Rent Acceptance by Nobody: 10:09am On Dec 29, 2015
Hello people I would like to carry out a quick survey on what peoples opinions are towards monthly rent payment because I am about to commence implementation of such on several properties.

Note: These are not shortlets nor are they furnished apartments. Just regular apartments of 3 or 2 bedrooms.

Assuming rent is 1million naira for a 3 bedroom and that is divided by 12 months which would be about 83000 naira monthly would people be willing to go with the monthly rentals or is the yearly still preferable for most.

Responses needed pls.

some of us want to move to a place for a short period and work or something.I'm currently in lag for some months to handle couple of jobs, photoshoots etc.

If monthly rent was a readily available option, why not? I would prefer it but most landlords ask for a year or year and half plus agreement of 25k,agency fee 25k etc.Definitely not very affordable

Ok but besides those who have the desire to want a place for short periods even though unfurnished, is it generally more pocket friendly for people to do the monthly rental?

definitely, as long as there is no extra cost attached with spreading the payment over a long period of time as opposed to paying a bulk sum

Hi, i'm curious to know what people think and feel of this method. I will like to collect rent monthly too. The concern in my finding is that our people do not find it easier to pay monthly. They will rather gather the funds wherever they can and that will buy them time and peace of mind for the next 12month. Dropping #60k when your salary is #80k is not easy to follow.

Usually, the first year paid is from accumulated funds over many years of savings or family input. That's why trouble usually start when its time to pay the second year. But if you can find a responsible person with very good income and stable job, then that may work.

What i will recommend is to see if an arrangement can be foster through the employer and the employee to have his or her rent send directly to the landlord on a monthly installation. Im still thinking on this idea for now. Good Luck
