I am tired of you people.
Nigerian journalists will perform given the resources.
Two Nigerian Journalists died while covering the Liberia war.
(Awotusin and Imobide)
Nigerian journalist covered the Rwanda war and even won an
international award for it.( I think his name is Oloyede)
Where were you?
If you were not old enough then why not ask questions.

Nigerian journalists have reported from war zones for many decades (it's nothing new). Many of them have even been killed in conflicts (including the current Boko Haram insurgency).

Many of the Civil War pictures that are being shared online today were taken by the great Peter Obe, who was always at the scene of the action.

Tayo Awotunsin of The Champion and Krees Imodibie of The Guardian were abducted and killed by Charles Taylor's NPFL (the murderers were led by Colonel Putu) while covering the Liberian Civil War in 1991.

The NTA's Moni Abubakar was also very active in Liberia and Sierra Leone in the late 1990s and early 2000s (she was embedded with Nigerian troops).

Channels Television's Enenche Akogwu was killed by Boko Haram militants while covering their attack on Kano in January 2012.

Late Enenche Akogwu.

The NTA's Zakariya Isa was also murdered by Boko Haram terrorist in Maiduguri.

NTA and Silverbird journalists have been embedded with the troops many times (I have watched their reports), including just last week when the Minister of Information toured the battle field.

I remember that both NTA and Silverbird showed clips of the service chiefs at the battle front, for example, when IED experts had to travel a few metres ahead of the Chief Of Army Staff's convoy to de-mine the area.

Is there any journalist in this world that knows more about Boko Haram than Ahmad Salkida, who has interviewed the late Mohammed Yusuf, Abubakar Shekau and has even served as a mediator between the government and Boko Haram (at great risk to his life)?

Give it to the drones who are too lazy to research.
I am proud of you.

Brave journalism is common with the white. I love seeing brave journalist on war front telling the true side of a story.

Our Naija journalist will sit at one corner of his or her office and write ghost interviews and later claimed it was a mistake.

I love journalism that write the both sides of the story rather than one side only.

God bless all good journalist around the world for taking bold steps towards revealing the truth.

For those who had lost their life in these cause of action, may they continue to rest in Peace.

I agree so much with you. If it's to cover world cup or Olympics you'll hear, "Our correspondence in Brazil or Germany, bla bla....." But let it be boko haram, they'll say, "it was reported that 20 people died, another report put it as 30 people....."
But that's not to say that we have never had war correspondence before.

Now that is what I call a reporter.BBC correspondent Martin Patience was pictured with Nigerian army on patrol in the combat zone in the north in a mission to access the level of progress made so far by Nigerian army in the north ahead of the December deadline earlier given by President Buhari's administration.

He was given utmost security by highly equipped soldiers in jeeps mounted both at the back and front of his convoy as he entered the insurgent zone. His reports will probably be out sooner.

I can still remember NTA's very first report from Liberia (in 1990) as if it was yesterday. The cameraman was with the troops on either NNS Ambe or NNS Ofiom (I can't remember exactly which of the LSTs) and he was filming the Port of Monrovia from the ship when a battle broke out between Samuel Doe's men and Charles Taylor's men. We could hear the explosions from the port and see the black smoke in the sky.

It took some time, but Doe's men were able to retain control of the port and the Nigerian soldiers landed safely.

I can't remember the name of the NTA correspondent.

This man has come to highlight the "so called" h7man right abuses. He should go and run an independent investigation without the assistance of the NA.
The BBC is a politically correct entity that refuses to take into account the effects of the willful destruction of lives and properties by BH.
This development should not be applauded but should be closely monitored.

The army has taken another foreign journalist on a guided tour of the frontlines, that is commendable since this shows that the army understands and appreciates the importance of public relations .nnow my reservations with the defence authorities are they tend to give foreign journalists with ulterior motives highe priority over our local journalists whom inspite of their shortcomings are more likely to present events in the ne in a more patriotic way than a foreign journalist will do ,the russians went to syria with a crew from rt now that's how u cover a war nobody will tell ur story better than u . Since 2013 the foremost defence sector blogger beegeagle has been pulling strings hoping authories wil invite him on a guided tour of the north east they have refused him that

Few days ago, Buhari spoke with the BBC on the progress of the war. They didn't call it propaganda, rather, they sent one of their reporters to come and verify. That is what I think those who are criticizing the government should do. They should leave the comfort of their homes and go to the North East to verify the veracity of the government claim.

Lai Mohammed went there, he gave an assessment of what he saw, they called it propaganda. On Tuesday last week, Dec 22nd to be precise, an AIT reporter that was attached to the Nigerian Military was a guest of Gbenga Aruleba's Focus Nigeria on AIT. What she said was not different from what Lai Mohammed said.

I know there are many Nigerian journalists out there with the military but the lazy ones are the loudest. They feel comfortable concocting lies and posting it online. And when they are called to verify their lies otherwise packaged as news reports, they shout media clampdown. They have their allies in some jobless and hurting emergency activists that have lost their livelihood since May 29. Anybody that is disputing what is happening in the North East should travel to the place and see things for him/herself. Afterall, seeing is believing.
