Weeks ago I applied for the tenth edition of Ladipo Adamolekun Award Of Excellence, a unique academic motivator aimed at encouraging students in my localty. The cash price of which, is thirty thousand naira each for beneficiaries; of which i happened to be one.

Now, before the panel, my submission when asked what i will use the money for should i win was, it will be used to obtain a laptop having offered admission to study Biochemistry in OAU. Having one i reasoned will not only be of great value to my education; in times of research but as well aid writing since i am, presently, working on a book.

Obtaining a new Laptop with this amount i understand is a mirage but a business done with it can make it a possibility since the certainty of resuming as speculated before by the school management for now remains an hypothesis of no substantial proof due to their so called "MSB."

So nairalanders, with mini importation business struck out by the new CBN policy, is there any productive business that within a time space of five months( since we won't be resuming any earlier than May) yield a minimum of 30% increase?

Suggestions will be appreciated.

My Dad once adviced i sell rat poison in an executive way, i couldnt considering the fact i went to school and all, but who knows if i had followed his advice, i might have been Dangote of rat poison sellers by now...

The best business that you can do with the money to yield 30% before the speculated time considering the amount involve is BUYING and SELLING.
You can consider the following
1) cloth Selling ,maybe buying on ali express e.t.c it takes less 20 days to get here
2) plantain chips sales depending on location, guys on the road will make the capital back within that period. As my guys will say Na Street / Road money dey
3) Pop corn business,with 30k you will get your equipment and get back stay at the junction of a major road and you can recoup your capital in in time
4) sales of insecticide and rodent killers is on the rise, you can take advantage of it.
5) You can also sell call cards, as it is part of our daily lives now.
There are numerous things you can still do legitimately and still surpass your 30% at the speculated time, Anybody can use any of these and thank me later.

Your question is in line. Many advisers, but the real truth is that 30/40k may hardly start up any reasonable business in this country. What you need as a student is an efficient and excellent skill such as Baking, Carpentry, Photography, Barbing, Video edit, disc jockey(DJ), hair stylist, Make Up, PHONES/LAPTOPS repairs e.t.c. If you've got a good skill as a student you will never be HUNGRY. #talking4rmXperience

1. Since you sound so smart go to bloggers.com and start blogging. You might blog about your current experience.
2. Recharge cards, selling of condoms within school (don't say that to the dudes giving you the money ).
3. If you have any vocational training use part of the money and create complimentary cards and start sharing to students to get customers, so if you have skills in carpentry, your fellow students can pay you for a job.

Get a Laptop or save the money and be observant until you find something productive.
