Well, he is the owner of his money. Not building the statue does not make his people richer. Is he the one that said his people should be poor? Some people go to mecca 5 times in a year having poor people all around them. I think the issue here is who makes this the statue of Jesus? Jesus' picture isnt available anywhere. It is idolatry. Even if his picture is available, he didnt tell anyone to worship his statue or pix.
