Y=cos3x, hence Y=cosu
let u=3x .....then du/dx=3
differentiating Y wrt to u,we will have
dy/du=-sinu
applying the chain rule dy/dx=dy/du × du/dx
=-sin u × 3
=-3sinu
=-3sin3x
