I don't think it is a regular govt. school................. seems like old missionary school handed back to missionary.

In Delta state, some old missionary schools were return to the mission though some are not as equipped as this.

Yeah, but the idea is not just handing back the schools but the effective management without excessive cost on the part of the studentss

( Photos) A Trip To The 2015 Award Winning Best Secondary School In Nigeria

Lorreto Senior Special Science Secndary School Adazi-Nnukwu Anaocha LGA of Anambra state on the 5th of October 2015 won the Presidential Award of the Best Secondary School (senior category) after defeating her counterparts from other states in several science oriented inter school debates. Another school from Anambra state also won the Junior category. Award.

Lorreto, was among the many schools handed back to her original owners (Missionary) by the Peter Obi's administration, in a new govt educational policy that enables the missions manage the school while govt pays teyachers salaries. This simple policy had over the last 4years set Anambra state on an unrivalled educational revolution that has seen her dominate all aspect of the education sectors in Nigeria at both primary and secondary school levels!

Adazi-Nnukwu is a rural community about 10km south-east of Awka the Anambra state capital. Lorreto is an all girls school while another Govt-mission secondary school for Boys is Bubbendoff Memorial Grammar school all located in Adazi-Nnukwu!

Pictures they say speaks louder than Voice!

Welcome to Lorreto!!

yes, is very expensive. That is why i said it is not a regular govt. school................ Is even more expensive than some private schools.

In Delta State, they stop enrolling students that took normal pri. 6 common entrance and force those that can't pay school fees or live in the hostel to leave.

This is a great story. Love the quality pictures too. Please you should have informed us if the fees in this school is as exorbitant as what most of the schools built by pentecostal pastors charge. We need this information to woe these deceivers who use tithe monies to build schools and average Nigerians can't send their wards there. Thanks for your anticipated response.

In Delta may be govt handsoff totally after handover thereby necessitating higher cost due to staff salaries.

In Anambra they are still financed by government only the management was handed back to original owners!

So scholl fees are still moderately ok just like any other govt secondary sch in Anambra, but because of its specialty as a "Special science school" entrance exam into the school is highly competitive!

Really, really commendable. This is how it should be - that state governments concentrate on primary, secondary and A level education. Much rather than setting up vocational centres and masquerade them as "State Universities."

There is really hope for young people in this country.

What is this one yapping about iromi abi na uromi?

Check all over the available data both online and offline, Anambra leads in WAEC, NECO, UNITY SCHOOLS, etc, and every internal and external debate that has ever been contest in the last 10years has all been won by Anambra and they keep winning to the extent that Anambra has got to the level that they left the rest of Nigeria behind to represent this country in international school debates in Singapore, Brazil, Croatia etc.

Welcome to the Republic of Anambra
