Abia Governorship: Arewa Youth Describes Judgement As Unjustifiable
January 8, 2016

Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has condemned the Justice Oyebisi Omoleye-led Panel of the Court of Appeal that nullified the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, describing it as dangerous and unconscionable miscarriage of justice.
AYCF in a statement signed by its President, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, also called on President Buhari to ensure that the sanctity of the judiciary is not eroded under his administration.
His words: ‘It is heartbreaking and unjustifiable what was done by the Appeal Court Judges that delivered and rendered such a dangerous and unconscionable miscarriage of justice. I am not a lawyer, but I’ve not heard of this kind of ruling anywhere.
‘It is unthinkable that the court of appeal Judges showed such high level of unethical behavior, lack of judiciary professionalism on the bench, and no remorse and respect for the rule of law of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
‘More concerning to us in this kangaroo judgment was the manner whereby the largest majority of citizens of the state that total up to 300,000 voters including the governor himself were disenfranchised and marginalized their constitutional rights of free and fair elections in their own state of Abia. The judgment of this Appeal Court is questionable and flawed in reality and must be resisted and blocked by the people of the state of Abia. Today it’s Abia, if nothing is done, it will happen elsewhere tomorrow.
‘We are therefore, calling all the law abiding citizens of the State, the governor of the State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and INEC to use all the peaceful tools and means within their power to pursue the cause of justice for a fair and true election that reflects the will and wishes of the voters of Abia State, Nigeria.
‘We also call on President Buhari to ensure that the sanctity of the judiciary is not eroded in his government. He must be bold to fish out corrupt elements around otherwise they will ruin the government.”

So just because Ikpeazu was sworn in shows that he won the election right?

***you lie***

So you think justice Ayodele will nullify Ikpeazu's election without any grounds to do that

This Yerima guy has surely been visited with a ghana must go by TA to help them push their wicked course from the north.

Abia is about to make the mistake Imo made.

Read the write up,that appeal court judgement cannot stand the test of time. We have absolute confidence that supreme court will do the right thing and restore the hope of common man on their ability to deliver justice.

Is Out-going Governor Ikpeazu your benefactor or uncle? Did he promise you juicy portfolio that was yet to be realised before he was booted out from office? You'd better accept your bitter fate and move on with your life than crying daily more than the berieved.

Everyone including APC and APGA knew that the verdict is a kangaroo one. Supreme court will do what is right in 2 months time

Someone cannot come outside the ballot box to rule me. That he wants to join APC should not be the reason to disenfranchise about 400000 citizens of Nigeria.

Mr man can't you see nobody is interested in this your sycophancy. Stop disturbing yourself. The judgement appeal court gave was a very sound one and I pray supreme court will affirm that. No doubt majority of Abians voted for Alex Otti, hence their spontaneous jubilation and excitement immediately the news filtered around.

Nobody except mad few celebrates such illegality and abuse of law. Otti was roundly defeated in Abia. We in Isialangwa North,Obingwa and Osisioma voted for the man we trust. Appeal court has no right to disenfranchise us

@OP. Otti won the Abia election free and fair. I am not living in Abia but I was in the state during the election.
I pray that Supreme court uphold Alex Otti Appeal Court victory..

All roads leads to the supreme Court. Of course the judiciary will live up to her expectation.
