Good morning nairalanders,

Attached is my boy Zeus, a 1 year old male caucasian and i am concerned about his excessive coat shedding. Basically I thought he was due for deworming, but after administering the shots, he's still shedding some more (prolly lesser) now.

Please I will like to confirm the following:

1. Is it normal to shed coat at this time; considering he is exactly a year this month and/or is it the season?

2. Should I take this as normal or be worried?

Please suggest steps to take, as contributions will be highly appreciated.

It's harmattan season, it's natural for hairs to break, even in humans too...No cause for alarm.

But u can control the excessive shedding with multivitamin supplements

No cause for alarm bro, Caucasians, gsd and rotties shed a lot this time of the year but as my padi arcbay said it can be reduced by placing him on multivitamins.

get a grooming comb and groom out all the dead hair. I can see much dead hair on your dog.

I use vetzyme and until recently, go administer the shots too. Thanks for the assurance

Done that already, and all seems nice and fluffy again. Like you, arcbay and knyte hav rightfully suggested, I'm gonna stick with vitamins and proper grooming.
