Great thread, unfortunately the number of unemployed graduates and sacked experienced workers is on the increase. A friend who is a management staff at visafone lost his job almost 3 weeks ago, a neighbour who works at Oando withdrew his 3 kids from a highbrow school to a pocket-friendly school.

We need to commit affairs of our country into God's hands, business owners and their customers are not smiling at all. We still have outstanding debt of over 500k in our primary school section and almost 700k in our secondary school section for 1st term which ended on 18th December 2015.
I have tried all tricks to make the debtors pay up, but the response is not encouraging. School owners/managers who have zero to negligible debt profile in their schools should please share the tricks which they are using during this period of global economic brouhaha and business uncertainty.

Gud evening house, I want to inform the house of a vacancy for a basic tech/ technical drawing teacher in Mighty Oaks Comprehensive College. Igbogila, Ipaja.The teacher is urgently needed.

Oga! It is terrible but sir am not an atheist but why should we pray, will God come down from heaven to solve our own problems? How did we get to this level? I think we should brain storm on the way forward. Do you know most employees were not paid December salary? About two 5 star hotels on the Island (names withheld) are owing staff three months salary. There is massive lay off. The economy is not smiling and Nigerians are not helping matters. The dollar as at last night was $305/#1.....kweke!

Do you know that a company in the oil and gas sector sacked 50% of its employees and also reduced the remuneration of those they did not sack by 50%.

For every employee that is sacked, the landlord will be affected, the school where his children attend will be affected, his church and pastor will be affected, the extended family will be affected, all these will have a negative multiplier effect on the economy. I just do not know how government is going to kick-start and stimulate this economy.

Though this might sound cliche,but the only effective way the FG can stimulate the cripling economy of nigeria is by promoting SME's and providing funds that can be channeled into viable business ideas,as complex as the situation in the country presently it can be solved gradually if the FG stops looking at solving the economical slump from the macro to the micro level,but rather look to solve it from the micro to the macro level.
Once unemployment is reduced to some extent by funding SME's that creates employment with the little available at the governements disposal presently this would tend to increase revenue for the government in the long run and would have solved the problem at the micro level,the m... Though our condition is in dire straits,but i believe we can overcome coz we have what it takes to do so.
Countries like japan,switzerland and the likes have no mineral resources but still survive, the UK relies mostly on business ventures and establishments to generate funds used in running its economy,all we need now is reduce corruption to the barest minimum and the little the country as now would be enough to set things right once again.
