The Type of Education Missing In Our Schools
What is Education: Education came from the word educe – which means “draw out”, not to put in. Our educational system is trying to put things in us rather than drawing out the uniqueness in us. Definition: Education is what remains in you after you have forgotten what you learned in school.
Types:
1. Academics Education: This level is where you learn how to read and write and the simple addition, subtraction & multiplication, division.
2. Professional Education: This is the level where you study professional courses.
3. Spiritual Education: I believe the church is taking care of this level that is very vital to our lives.
4. Financial Education. Out of the four types of education the missing ingredient in our schools and society is financial education. That is why our financial crisis is a crisis in education. The school system prepares student to work for money, to go out there and look for a job and not learn how to create a job.
In school system there is only one right answer, when lecturers mark your exams/text they are looking for the right answer. In school, you are intelligent if your right answer agrees with the lecturer’s right answer. If your right answer agree with the lecturer’s answers, you are an “A” student (right), if not your wrong.
In real life there is more than one right answer. E.g In School you are smart/intelligent if you know that 1 +1=2, but the person that know how to turn 1 +1 =11 million who is more smarter?. You don’t need calculus to be rich. Education is about having more choices in life. If you know there are 3 types of incomes, you can decide which one you want.
Without financial education many people leave school financially desperate, needy and greedy. Our schools are not fulfilling the educational needs of our students. Needy people become greedy people, Greedy people become desperate people and desperate people do desperate things. If the reason why people go to school is to finish and come out and make money, why in school they will not teach you anything on wealth creation. When can this be implemented in our school system. Am not saying that school is not important, school is extremely important but the issue is that the system is still operating as if we are still in the industrial age that only produces employees that seek job security but not financial freedom.

This two are still under Academics which is just a part of Education.
