The NBC Director General Emeka Mba was arrested on Monday by the operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly operating a secret account into which about N17 billion out of N34 billion paid by MTN Nigeria for the 700MHz license was kept.Blood of God! Wia I dey for this past administration when people dey chop billions and clean mouth? Abeg EFCC ride on! But more importantly, una must account for all the money when una recover. We no want another N1t to disappear like it did under Lamorde. -Lord |

I have read many comments on this forum about how the present brouhaha between Federal Government and MTN will dissuade other investors from investing in Nigeria. I stand to say with all modesty that most of these guys making such comments are ignorant of how businesses and corporations are run in developed countries of the world. What some companies do in Nigeria, they dare not do them in a well regulated countries where there are laws and regulations, codes etc. Nigeria is lawless and no wonder an operator operates with so much impunity. What MTN did in Nigeria, if it were to be America, or Europe, their license would have been revoked and very heavy charge smashed on them. Please let us learn to do things right, we can't continue to be of a 'country-of-anything-goes'. |

Sohot1:Don't scare us with those terms. Investors are into serious government knowing fully well that laws and order will be in place. Investors will now have confidence in dealing with us please not all investors think like you. No country think about investors before its citizens please. |

| Re: Anxiety As FG Completes Review Of Mtn’s N34bn License by codedguy1(m): 11:17am On Jan 16, 2016 |
brunofarad:That's not entirely true. knowing the details of why the ownership was revoked will help my decision to buy or not. If he got the land thru fraudulent means then he deserves getting the land revoked and is he the only one in the estate? Did the govt revoke everybody's land ownership in the estate? In the case of MTN if the license is revoked everyone will know the reason. It might be that MTN bribed their way to get the license and my brother that's enough reason to revoke the license after considering all other things like them signing an agreement, breaching it and when fined begged for renegotiation which they got and instead of paying decided to go to court. The govt decided to look into their books/license and discovered this fraud. So your analogy does not hold water and I admit say now Govt don mean them. |

brunofarad:it's better that they are scared away than they enslaving and cheating us in our own land all in the name of investing. The investors should know that they can be held accountable too. No one is above the law. |

brunofarad:Yes you are right. But it will only scare away those corrupt investors that want to rip us off and promote corruption in the country. We don't need investors like that. That is why, it is time for every Nigerian to be thinking like an entrepreneur and start springing up businesses by ourselves. Most foreign investors always want to rip us off and promote corruption in the land. We should let them know that, any investor with genuine intention should come forth and registered and not just any investor. |
