Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was awarded a Masters Degree (MA) in Christian Theology by the management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) at its fifth convocation ceremony held at its permanent site in Abuja today January 16th. He graduated with 4.25 Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) at Abeokuta Study Centre of the University.

The ceremony was witnessed by Nollywood stars including Desmond Elliot, Kenneth Okonkwo and others. Amongst the other grandaunts included a 52-year-old grandmother, Abdullahi Amina, who bagged a First Class degree in Islamic Studies. 70 year old Rear Admiral Orishamolade Stephen Ola bagged a First Class in Mathematics. A total number of 10,652 others students graduated. Congrats to all of them. .

obj was not there yesterday and despite our name on the convocation brochure and graduating list from our respective study center clearance done but only for them to tell us during issuance of certificate that we should come to Lagos to collect our certificate. our names were not on the certificate's that were brought to Abuja. whatca shame after all the money we spent. some people were crying that what would they tell there people back home.

the discrimination against hnd holders in 9ja in labour market is too much,some organisation's don't accept hnd holders.

I guess you're very fortunate and lucky that you've got sponsors so you're insensitive tto others plight.

What about youths who are working to finance and sponsor themselves?

What about youths that their parents can not send to higher institution coz of financial constraints? They were enrolled to learn a skill or trade. Now they'v graduated and had started practising but still wants to go to school?

NOUN allows and take care of that. Can you be on a full time job and run a full time program at Unilag? Its not compulsory you attend lectures, there are study materials, just read and study on your own, then you go to school to write exams. Sure you'll be permitted at work to go write your exams maybe for 2weeks. Test and assignments are given and submitted online. First school that make use of the internet more than any other in Nigeria...Once you're a student, you have your matric no, other details for loggin in something like your account where you can read, see assignm$ent nd do them etc. I have a friend who is a student there...to be sincere, I like how it is done. Go abroad nd see many universities like that

So don't be quick to conclude coz u're oppourtuned. Not all of them are lazy. Maybe circumstances. People like you will still tag them an uneducated illiterate tmrw if they don't go to school

name that your school and let the whole word know. Up till last convocation, i mean last 4 convocations NOUN produced only 2 first class students. So i am not sure of this 15 of a thing until i confirm. NOUN course materials are voluminous and you must read from back to back because no lecturer, no area of concentration . You can only have luck if examiner repeat past questions that you have treated the question before.
