In 539 BC, The Babylonian Empire fell to Persian forces commanded by General Ugbaru under King Cyrus.
About 70 years earlier Jeremiah the prophet had prophesied that Jerusalem would be conquered by the Babylonians (Chaldeans) and the Israelites would be in captivity in Babylon for 70years. It happened just as it was prophesied; prophecy was fulfilled in 537 B.C.

DANIEL’S INTERPRETATION OF NEBUCHADNEZZAR's DREAM: THE VISION OF THE IMAGE.

Daniel interpretes Nebuchadnezzar’s vision of an image in Daniel 2

Daniel 2:31-34
Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

Daniel 2:37
Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

The conquest of Babylon by Persia ended Babylon’s reign as the world power, and Persia as its conqueror assumed the mantle of world leadership. The chest/breast/arms of the image which was made of silver took over from the head of the image which was made of gold.

Babylon was world power for 70years.

Jeremiah 25:12

Daniel's image was a figurative description of a sequence of empires that would rule the earth after the fall of God's temple in Jerusalem.

All the empires have come and gone, we are in the dying embers of the last one, the feet of iron mixed with clay.

The feet of clay mixed with iron is a form of the Roman empire but quite weakened, it is called the Anglo-American world power. It’s head is the modern day daughter of Babylon. This empire will be destroyed without human mediation, just as Daniel saw a stone that was cut out of a mountain without hands falling on and destroying the image and subsequently filling the earth.

The power of control that the Anglo-American empire has over the whole world or the agency through which this world power administers this system of things, is the United Nations. The United Nations was set up in 1945 after the end of World War 2, when the Allied powers defeated the axis powers.

I believe this is the ascendency to power of the feet iron mixed with clay.

We know that God declares the end from the beginning, and God will never change, we can depend on the law of precedence to determine the course of present and future events:
