A Sector With $2 Billion Revenue Potential- Economic Diversification. by JaredNomak(op): 11:46am On Jan 18, 2016
I'm just a patriot proposing a way to salvage Nigeria from economic recession.

It is not a thing of shock if one sees president Buhari searching the gutters of Abuja for the alleged misappropriated $2.1 billion Arms procurement fund because he is a hard working and honest man keen on returning the lost glory of Nigeria. The dwindling meagre prices of oil and it's negative effects on our economy cannot be overemphasised, hence the immediate need to consider every type of diversification that would help reduce the impinging effects of oil price on our economy.

Last night, there was a thread on Nairaland religiously attacking a kind of alleged immorality. I went through the comments with fixed attention and found out many things which I would be discussing one of them here with you.
The Adult Industry popularly know as Porn Industry as at 2013 was worth more than $97 Billion worldwide, and about $11 billion coming the US alone. http://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/porn-industry-feeling-upbeat-about-2014-n9076

According to one estimate, there are nearly 25 million porn sites worldwide and they make up 12 percent of all websites. Sebastian Anthony, writing for ExtremeTech, reports that Xvideos is the biggest porn site on the web, receiving 4.4 billion page views and 350 million unique visits per month. He claims porn accounts for 30 percent of all web traffic. Based on Google data, the other four of the top five porn sites, and their monthly page views (pvs) are: PornHub, 2.5 billion pvs; YouPorn, 2.1 billion pvs; Tube8, 970 million pvs; and LiveJasmin, 710 million pvs. In comparison, Wikipedia gets about 8 billion pvs.

Looking at the figures and statistics above, every free and patriotic mind would be craving to see such financial success in Nigeria. President Buhari, with his innate anti corruption stance can look more inwards and device a means to prevent cases of piracy and patent fraud in this industry if successfully set up and make sure taxes are remitted to government account from this sector. As There are a lot of able bodied young men and women willing to go into this remunerative industry, with a population more than half of US', we are on course to making, at least, 1/3 of what America makes from Porn. Africa with her huge interest in sex and portrayals of sexual relationships lacks a reputable promoter in the business, shouldn't Nigeria size this opportunity?

There is the need to also popularise sextoy stores in Nigeria, we can manufacture the necessary sex lubricants and toys and sell them in 18rated stores to avoid more cases of cucumber breaking in the vagina and also reduce the inflated price of Vaseline which has been put to perverted use by high libido young men.
There are many ways we can make outrageous amounts on taxes from this sector, we can invite the likes of Daisy Marie and Kendra Lust against their male counterparts in Nigeria. Such scenes will automatically boost the internet visits on our 18rated websites and even attract more tourists to Nigeria.

On the thread I went through last night, a lot of people also recognised the positive impact this proposed industry can have on our shrinking economy, although it wasn't without opposing views from religious fellows but you can agree with me that the economic importance outweighs the dent on moral values. Should we forfeit economic buoyancy for hypocritical moral values? As for regulations, the government can maker her laws when the industry kickstart.

"Whoever believes this crap is not only delusional but need to be placed under psychiatric evaluation! The porn industry just like any other regulated industry works according to government regulations and laws of their profession. The workers undergo mandatory testing some of which are random. Some of them actually come from rich, wealthy homes and are very satisfied with their profession. The real problem with the world is the religious nuts in this world thinking you can force your religion or beliefs on people who dare to differ from the way you see and think. With all the religion in the world, it's a shame most of you actually live an unfulfilled, frustrated life!" abbey261.
