i just called him to hear his own version of what happened but he is an IT person.he said it was brought to him and the guys said they would send him the iCloud password later in the day,he took pictures and deleted them but because iCloud as a way of transferring pictures immediately it is taken,he couldn't delete that part of it.later in the day he had to return the iPad since those guys couldn't provide the password.I simply told him to be ready for the worse because the whole computer village knows him and it's more like bad reputation on him and his wife.His wife might be sacked because she work with a bank.He might be arrested if he can't produce those guys

Well if he return it to the owner, no need to fear any worse outcome but if he return it to the person,who brought the device to him,he's aiding a criminal act thereby making him a friend to a thief.

and when she submits it they will tell her to come in two weeks time to fill a form. two weeks later they will start asking her to say the whole event that took place.

all these is just to frustrate somebody and make people not to be visiting the police stations.

Install Google device administrator.
Even when the phone is off you can make it ring,you can trace the phone using Google earth of Google map up to 2feet accuracy.

avast security is also good. ones a new SIM is inserted, it quickly sends a text to your e-mail or another number with location.

Nigerian police have hardware for tracking phone numbers. It's also easy to track.
but it's only good for phones that won't be locked
