Regardless of how the OP got the job, let me state something that is happening now.
We that we are in a time when employers look beyond certificate qualification. They are looking for someone who will get the job done.
Just recently, the director of my institution said something.
He said "We are looking for a good individual to work in our proposed information centre but I am yet to find someone capable. All I see is people coming to tell me 'sir I have a degree in mass communication' That is not what I want. I need someone who will do the job well regardless of paper qualification. If he has a good paper qualification, that is a plus"

The point is, it is good to have good paper qualification but make sure you have the necessary skills to get the job done if not, someone will lesser qualification but with better skills will win over you.

I work in IT as senior staff of a large company.

Recently we had a guy come in with his shiny well formatted CV bearing all sorts of CCNAs and MSSCEs and NIITs and all other such nonsense.

We took him to our data center...the guy couldnt tell our firewall from our switches. I pointed out our SIP server and asked him what is was and what it did...he saw all the SIM cards and said...wait for it....3G modem!

kicked him right out the window.

most lecturers in uni are 3rd class thats why de don't want anyone to pass 3rd class. ..dont join them..be good oh

What is the thank God inside after getting it via your uncle's influence. Better hope its a genuine appointment!

For me this is still part of the corruption. By the way how do u guys come out with 3rd class. I cannot for the life of me figure how one can play away or study so hard at the uni and be rewarded with 3rd class. Just sad.

Congrats. But it is important to let you know that God is not unfair. Your uncle used his position to put you there and in so doing denied others who may have outperform you had the recruitment been subjected to transparent process. Mind you, even an armed robber could still attribute his successful operations and riches to God. But for all intents and purposes, will God in His throne take that credit? Sure, let first class holders down to pass holders get jobs, but let equity and Justice be our guiding principles, rather than who you know. Congrats once more.
