Subsidy is the only reason why they are diverting the product in the first place, so without subsidy gas station can just load at NNPC and sell without any bottle neck.

The Federal Government, weekend, hiked the price of Household Kerosene (HHK) also known as kerosene, to N83 per litre from N50 per litre, thereby, officially ending subsidy on the product. ‎

The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA‎, in its product pricing template released over the weekend, however, stated that the N83 per litre price applies only to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), meaning that other petrol stations and dealers can sell higher than the stipulated amount.

Curiously, the hike in the price of kerosene was coming at a time when the price of crude oil had dropped to record low, with the price of petroleum products, such as kerosene, fuel and diesel, among others, dropping significantly in a number of countries, like the United States‎.

This also brings to question, the recent reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit, announced by the Federal Government and which commenced at the beginning of the year.

Again, the PPPRA's template also showed that at N83 per litre, the Federal Government is making a gain of N10.72 for every litre, as it puts the Expected Open Market Price, which is the Landing Cost plus Total Margins at N72.28 per litre. The expected open market price is the prevailing open market rate for the productin Nigeria, after taking certain costs into consideration.

Giving a breakdown of the price, the PPPRA template put the Landing Cost of ‎the product at N57.98 per litre, while the total margin due‎ middlemen was put at N14.30.

Further breakdown of the Total Margins showed that retailers margin was put at N5per litre; Transporters - N3.05 per litre; Dealers - N1.95 per litre; Bridging fund - N5.85 per litre; Marine Transport Average - N0.15 and Admin‎ Charges - N0.15.

The PPPRA further put official ex-depot price, which is the price depot owners would sell at marketers, at N68.70 per litre, official ex-depot price for collection - N73 per litre, while ex-coastal price - N68.02 per litre.

Hmm...i do my brother. I just tried to teach them the alternatives available for them. One problem we have in Nigeria is that we easily create apathy in situations that do not necessarily need it!

For all problems, alternatives abound...

There is sawdust stove, gas cooker, charcoal stove, & so on! Must we buy kerosine? Must we cook with our kero stove? It is even the most (financially) expensive among all! Gas is cleaner & far cheaper; sawdust is so cheap to obtain! Our problem is docility...we want the status quo to remain! When the trend change, then we change with it, not to let it crush us! We can even put these criminals called oil marketers out of biz, & end this torment of queueing all day @ NNPC stations and end up with insults! The pic above is an example...

so non NNPC outlet are not gas station? It is like you did not read well. "only NNPC station and others can sell higher, which they will surely do. You know that everybody will not go only to NNPC gas station to buy and if they do, Another secondary problem like congestion will be created.

That's a big fat lie.. the common man has never bought kero at the subsidized rate, in Warri the cheapest I have bought is N120 a litre before switching to gas. so to me its a welcome development.

Its a welcome development, if the official price was 55 naira and stations were selling 130 naira whats the point in subsidizing, who benefits just a community of greedy station owners let the subsidy be removed so that prices can de determined by demand and supply.

This is what we have been telling PDP government, buahri remove subsidy on PMS and dpk successful without violent......anybody with money shld pm me or call me let do business, oil sector is open to anybody without knowing president, atleast 2.5m would purchase 33000 litres and around 68m would purchase 1kmt.....etc,buahri weldone, I dey ur back 100 time, call me if u wanna do business 08034989352

Same in Port Harcourt. Kerosine subsidy was never enjoyed by Nigerians all these years.

Trustworthiness:
It is high time we all start using LPG (that is gas) in our various homes. It is cheaper and readily available in Nigeria.

Before I started using gas in my house, I spent minimum of N18K in three months, but now I spend almost N8K in three months. Thereby reducing my expenses.

Nigeria LNG produces enough LPG that foreign countries are refusing to buy because of high competition in the world market. Let all start using the gas produced by the company so that the ccompany can increase their production, hence increase the number of Nigerians they will be able to employ.

This is the time for us all to rethink and help improve the economy of our dear country.

Where in Nigeria can you get kerosene for 83naira.
They are even making gain of #10+ on every litre of kerosene.

Remove subsidy from PMS (Premium Motor Spirit) which is fuel NOT Kerosene.
It is the poor masses that patronize kerosene the most, the rich does not use kerosene for cooking neither do they use it to light up their lamptern!
PMB has just made life difficult to millions of Nigeria by removing subsidy from KEROSENE?

Remove subsidy from PMS(PETROL) which is mostly patronize by the rich not kerosene which is mostly patronize by the poor!
petrol is mostly use by the rich but kerosene is mostly use by the poor!
WE NEED CHANGE THAT WILL MAKE THE POOR MASSES RICH NOT CHANGE THAT WILL MAKE THE RICH RICHER AND THE POOR POORER.
