As Amanda waited for minutes and eventually hours for her lying and cheating husband to return, she tapped her feet several times on the shiny wooden floor.

Her eyes were sore and red, due to lack of sleep. Her breath was something else, as she was mouth shut for so long, properly and quietly thinking of the right words to say to her Husband at this early hour of the day in July.

Patrick got back to their House and sneaked in. Amanda turned on the light switch and the bulbs were alive once again. She stared at her other half as he looked away, like an insolent child, who deserved proper whipping and caning.

"Why are you awake, Amanda? For God's sake, it's 3:32am and you freaking startled me, do you know that?" Patrick bellowed, the veins on his head reacting, as if they were going to pop any minute.

"Where have you been, Pat?"

"I asked you a question first, Woman. Why are you still awake? You look sleep deprived!" Patrick questioned once again, his tone less of a bellow and more of a stern nature.

"I wanted to say something to you after you returned from your tryst with one of your many lovers, Pat!".

Right there and then, Amanda gave her Husband the whole deal, revealing she actually knew more than she ought to know.

The ambience was suppose to be filled with dismay and awkward vibes. But Patrick threw in the sponge, making Amanda more heart shattered.

"Yes! I make love to other women, because I'm sick and tired of this union. I don't like being married to you anymore. It's been Ten long and horrible years and I quit, Amanda!" Patrick spat.

"But you can't do this, Pat. You j-just can't!" Amanda spluttered, the words of her greasy mouth less smooth than they were a few minutes ago.

"Well, I can and there's nothing you can do about it! You're just a lazy Housewife and you can't fight back my decision, because you got nothing! You've no skills, no job and not even a Child, Amanda. You're a failure!".

Amanda's mouth was ajar momentarily, like a Child who got the wrong words from an angry Mother.

But she quickly shut it tight and walked away. She walked far, far away from Patrick that night and resolved to fall asleep in the Guest bedroom at exactly 4am.

Patrick was on a Suit and Tie, sweating, praying and waiting for his name to be said out loud by the Office Clerk.

It was one of these things he hasn't done for a lot of years. Life has been good with his new wife, Chloe. Until he lost his job and that was the beginning of his end.

He was left with nothing but the opportunity to go back to job hunting, like an amateur in the labour market.

It was the Eleventh hour, but not of the day when his name was called out by the Clerk. He was energised and exuberant as he sprang up on his feet and walked into the Office of his Employer, if only he would get the job.

From the view of the Behind of the lady in the office, he could tell there was a familiar vibe all over the Office. It was that same fragrance, after so many years. Her hair was shiny gold and her skin in her tight skin sleeveless leather dress was elaborated as Ivory at dusk.

"Hello Patrick!" The voice reverberated in the cold room. Amanda turned to look at her Ex-husband, who kicked her out of their House, calling her several names for being worthless and no use to him or humanity.

She picked up the broken pieces and decided to do whatever was needed yet unfavourable, to be worthy in his eyes and that of Society. She was a changed woman and Boredom made her so.

"What can I do for you?" She questioned, lifting her arm to offer him a friendly handshake.

Good turns of event here. I like your delivery on the plot. I'm gradually reading this work of yours to know what boredom really caused Amanda.

Great work here.
