Even though I believe he could have worn a better footwear to the place of worship knowing his status in the society.
I believe when one is comes to a place of worship, it's the heart that is very important (not saying he's corrupt or pious though)
A man that wears Heavy Agbada to Church/Mosque may not be a pious as a man that wears shirt and jeans.
God knows best what is in the heart of man.

I believe when one is comes to a place of worship, it's the heart that is very important (not saying he's corrupt or pious though)

God knows best what is in the heart of man.
