Dakuku Peterside, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the April 11 governorship election in Rivers state, has offered his “help” to Nyesom Wike, whose election as governor of the state was upheld by the supreme court on Wednesday.

Addressing his supporters on Thursday, Peterside said that although he had accepted the verdict of the court, he still needed to reflect on some anomalies in the polity.

He promised to contribute his best to the development of the state, saying he would commend Wike when the need arises and “constructively express objection to policies and actions we consider inimical to the overall interest of Rivers people” when necessary.

“…we shall do our best to work for the peace and development of Rivers State and all who reside in it,” he said.

“We shall creatively offer our help to Governor Nyesom Wike. We will provide a virile opposition, serving as a mirror for the conscience of government, in the interest of Rivers people.

“When encouragement is needed towards a just and proper course of dealings, we will offer our commendation to the government. Conversely, we will constructively express objection to policies and actions we consider inimical to the overall interest of Rivers people.”

Good one from Dakuku, Nigerian politicians should learn from GEJ. politics is game and there must be a winner and a looser. Every politician comes out to serve the public so if they reject you, you don't force yourself to serve them, go in peace. That's a great lesson from GEJ to all Nigerians.
