Barely two days after his inauguration, the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has dissolved the boards of ministries and parastals in the state.

He also officially terminated the appointments of all political appointees and directed them to hand over to the most senior officers in their offices with immediate effect.

The governor, who issued the directive through his Chief of Staff, Mr. Edward David Onoja, said the move was necessary to enable the new government commence the restructuring of the boards and parastatals where necessary.



He added that it would also allow the government to take stock of the state of the boards with a view to commencing the process of repositioning them through new hands for efficiency and service to the people.

The directive, however, excluded three statutory boards and the Accountant General of Kogi State.

Those excluded are the Judicial Service Commission, Civil Service Commission and the State Independent Electoral Commission.

The Governor thanks all the chairmen and members of the boards and parastatals for their services to the people of Kogi State and assured them of the readiness of his administration to move the state forward.

I just hope and pray these guys running the show now will understand tthey have a date with history. Both Yahaya Bello and Edward Onoja have been to other places within and outside the country so it will be a shame for them to thing average or below average leadership will be acceptable interms of the socio-political and economic growth and development of Kogi state. It's won't be a crime to see for a start lokoja the state capital being like some areas in middle-class districts in London. It's a possibility, especially with young "Dudes" in charge. I urge them to be matured open minded developmental young fellas.

not sure if you are saying youth is the prerequisite for development infrastructure?
