vfactor:This is rather confounding. They pass extremely so well in the secondary school exams but then have to go learn a trade. Well maybe there is something we still don't know. It all still boil down to how Nigeria performs extremely well in age grade football competitions, but abysmal failure at the senior level..CHEATING |

take census to ariwa kingdom on amajiri you can see that those ideots has the highest population. now take on level of illiterates you will see that almost all of them. if you have been there you will notice that most of them will be in market selling others in their houses while the exam is written for them. they go to school only to take the food cooked for them in the school. they tear books like goats and ram. and you expect them to take lead. |

InyinyaAgbaOku:bros, go and sit down. those singapore and croatia competitons were debate competitions, their teachers can easily prep them up for it. Go and check the past winners of cowbell maths quiz, where yorubas dominate, they are for brainy and intelligent pupils and not all these cram-cram debate activities. |

PentiumPro:I was thinking you will put up a link to show how badly south easterners are doing in professional exams. My dear, when others succeed, rejoice with them so that yours will come. This our attitude of pull him down at all cost will lead us nowhere. I'm sure you won't be doing what you just did if they say it's your region that led the pack. Instead of looking for loopholes to capitalize on in the south east why not try to see how they succeed so much and see if you can apply that in your region in stead of the way you are going about it now. Like someone said earlier, Imo state used to lead the pack until they dropped and he called on the state government to sit up instead of attacking those that succeeded. See ehn? Nigeria will be more than a desirable place to live in if only we'll compete with positive things instead of trying to outdo each other in bad things. Kudos to Abia n Anambra. I'm Happy that my EBONYI state is among the first 10, still more work needs to be done. Thank you |

I think its time I say what is on my mind. The situation of things have shown that if not for the Civil war, the Igbo land would have been the envy of the whole Africa. In less than 40 years of the massacre and forceful snatching of the Igbo properties all over Nigeria, by the Nigeria Government spearhead by the coward rat-poison drinker ... (I dont need to name names), the present generation of the Igbo race has shown that destiny can be delayed but can never be denied. Umu ibe, even if they fail to grant us Biafra, then let us prove to them that Nigeria is ours to own, to plough and not plunder-like their fore fathers has done over the years. I am first an Igbo man, before I am forced to be a Nigerian... |

PentiumPro:Your argument would have been strong if you re able to prove that the 61% that made 5 credits in Anambra state end up going to the university. Judging by what we know of the south east, i may not be wrong to say that only 50% of the 61% may end up going to the university. And of this number only about half may end up studying professional courses that would require professional certifications like ICAN and COREN. So ur argument lacks strong merit. Granted there will always be cheating, and this is not limited to geopolitical zones. But to attribute the rate of success of the eastern region in waec exams to cheating is absurb and pessimistic. |

SonOfEl:It is a well known FACT,so nobody recognizes the Igbos when you talk about education.HOME AND ABROAD...EDUCATION HAS BECOME THE BIRTHMARK OF THE YORUBAS. MIRACLE CENTRES THING AND YOU ARE HAPPY.SMH... Look at the real thing. EVEN ABROAD.. The Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, UP, says Romola Adeola is its youngest doctoral graduate. In a statement on its website, the centre said: “Romola Adeola, 26, has set a record in being the youngest person to obtain a Doctor of Laws degree (LLD) in the 30-year history of the Centre for Human Rights. Furthermore, she is only the 2nd youngest person to achieve this in the Faculty of Law, UP, since its establishment 107 years ago. She distinguished herself by completing the LLD in under 3 years. During her undergraduate years at Lagos State University (LASU), she was the Best Student in International Law. Romola’s relationship with the Centre for Human Rights began from her participation in the 2008 African Human Rights Moot Court Competition. In 2012, she was selected as a DAAD scholar to study for the LLM/MPhil degree in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa. She graduated cum laude, earning two awards: the Kéba M’Baye award for the overall Best Dissertation and the Victor Dankwa prize for the Best Performance in the module: Human Rights in Africa. Her excellent record earned her admission to the Centre’s doctoral programme in 2013. In her PhD thesis, she analyzed the obligation in article 10 of the African Union Convention in relation to the Protection and Assistance of Internally Displaced Persons in Africa. She has given interviews, presented papers at international conferences and been the voice of the Centre on issues of internally displaced persons, migrants and refugees. . During her time here, she led the Disability Rights Clinic and served as Alumni Coordinator. In this latter capacity, she led a campaign calling for the release of prominent Swazi human rights activist – Thulani Maseko, and raised funding to support his family. She attributes her success to her supportive parents, personal discipline, perseverance and prayer. In her words, ‘be faithful to God, be true to yourself and be of service to humanity.’ She also holds two diplomas from Åbo Akademi University.” http://www.trezzyblog.com/2016/02/26-year-old-lasu-alumnus-emerges.html |
