To all roman Catholics, tomorrow is ash wednesday; the beginning of the lent season. Lent season is the period peceeding easter, in the christian church, devoted to fasting, abstinence and penitence in commemoration of Jesus Christ fasting in the wilderness, for fourty (40) days and fourty nights. (Mathew 4:2 and luke 4:2 ) The lent season starts with a ritual named "ash wednesday" and ends after fourty days on a saturday named "holy saturday". In the Islamic faith, lent season is equivalent to the ramadan season. God bless everyone. |
