ShyNeptune:Lmao. This thing you used two pages to solve is an objective question o. We don't have this luxury of time during exam. Well done, you're correct. But I was expecting to see a quick approach (shortcut). |

Geofavor:Hahahaha... it's just a page.... The second picture is nothing but a replica. ![]() It won't take much time/space solving it alone in the exam hall... you know. ![]() On a normal day I would have skipped so many lines and arrived at my answer. But for the sake of those who may need the step by step solutions i had no option but to solve it all. Lol. Mathefaro may have a shortcut ![]() |

ShyNeptune:okay. Ha, I for say. I wan begin dey fear you be that o. I knew a guy who does that. The guy uses about 3 pages to solve a question which shouldn't take more than 3 to 4 lines. |

| Re: Nairaland 2016 Jamb Tutorial Classroon [mathematics Thread] by Geofavor(m): 8:01pm On Feb 08, 2016 |
mathefaro:thank you sir. It's hightime I burnt this nonsense past questions book. Or is there any chance that the answer is 2! X 6!? |
| Re: Nairaland 2016 Jamb Tutorial Classroon [mathematics Thread] by mathefaro(m): 8:10pm On Feb 08, 2016 |
Geofavor:Depends on the condition. But by default(without condition), 6!/2! Is the correct solution. It's just like saying. In how many ways can the letters of the word "SCHOOL" be arranged? |

Geofavor:Change the sqrt(x) to index form and split the numerator into two parts each taking x as the denominator then differentiate whatever you get wrtx |
| Re: Nairaland 2016 Jamb Tutorial Classroon [mathematics Thread] by Geofavor(m): 1:13pm On Feb 11, 2016 |
mathefaro:how do you differentiate x1/2/cosx. Do you differentiate them individually or you use the quotient rule? |
| Re: Nairaland 2016 Jamb Tutorial Classroon [mathematics Thread] by mathefaro(m): 2:05pm On Feb 11, 2016 |
Geofavor:Since, they're 2 different functions of x, you'll use quotient rule unlike x1/2/x which is still one function of x |

Solve ₹x2-9=x+1 ₹ is square root. X2 is x square |
| Re: Nairaland 2016 Jamb Tutorial Classroon [mathematics Thread] by mathefaro(m): 9:11pm On Feb 14, 2016 |
parkparky:First and foremost, square both sides to get x² - 9 = (x + 1)² x² - 9 = x² + 2x + 1, if you collect like terms from here, you get 2x = -10 x = -5 Although, if you come across this in your UTME, I'll SUGGEST(just a mere suggestion) you don't bother solving it, just test each of the options. |
