corrola 2005 uses a 1ZZ-FE engine. 1.8liter. About 160-170k now.

I own a 2000 corolla and it use 1ZZ - fe engine as well, is it the same engine as 2005 corolla?

yours is the 1st generation, the other is 2nd generation, some modification and improvement was done. Not exactly the same.

it's not, I changed it because am relocating the car to a long distance state, though the gear has a little problem... but am interested in selling the engine than the gear

If the engine was good, it would not require any form of change. Regardless if it was going to a long, middle or short distance.

thanks...any interested buyer will fixed it first inside his car, test for few days before making final payment....if the engine is bad I would have sell it for scrap

I own a Toyota matrix 2003, I've been experiencing oil shortage, changed rings via my Mechanic whom I don't trust any longer, the oil shortage didn't stopped but there is appreciable change, I discussed with another mechanic, he talked about changing rings too sad
