I remember the good old days of nairaland. Days when members help each other. What made me register to this website wayback 2009 was actually someone that was offering a free tutorial on internet marketing.

Threads like that are no where to be found now. All we see now is Tontoh and the breadseller.

It's my utmost desire to be of help to members of this forum that really need it, in my own little capacity. I believe in the maxim that the more you give, the more you'd receive.

Let's cut the chase and get down to business. I am going to help members of this forum design and build their own blogs and news websites.

I would build blogs that look like linda ikeji and also news websites like premium times, all for free. We would be using popular CMS like wordpress and blogger. But i prefer wordpress because it's really versatile and I have a wealth of experience in that.

I Would guide you through all the entire process, from purchasing all the way to finally posting your articles.

I would show you where you could get the cheapest web hosting company both Nigerian and Foreign hosting. I would also give you my professional opinion on the best web hosting company for a blog/news website.

Why would i be doing all these for free? What's really in for me?

What you need to start?

1) If you want to own your own blog/news website, first you would need to decide on your blog name. What would you want your blog to be called? Linda ikeji choose her name, Bella naija choose differently. What would you want yours to be called?

2) After this, check to see if the name you choose is available. You can check it on www.checkdomain.com . if it is, then we progress to the next step.

3) Get a hosting account for your domain. A hosting account is where all your contents would be hosted. LIke a housing for your blog stories and stuffs.

4) Once you've got your hosting account, send me your control panel details, or grant me access to use your control panel. You can change your password/access later.

Once i am done designing, you can start posting your news. I'd advice you to run it for at least 2 weeks before you apply for adsense. Through adsense, you can make a load of cash from your blog.


Instead of siting at home or aimlessly making other people money by browsing their blogs 24/7, why not start your own? Take your articles to your blog and make money off them.

Best hosting company to Use?

for me, the best hosting company for blogs/news website is godaddy economy. It's very cheap and offers more flexibility than most local hosting companies. If you are interested, i will show you how to get godaddy hosting for just $1 a month, with a free domain name and unlimited bandwidth.

Another good one is whogohost.com . They are Naija owned and their customer service is superb. You can get a hosting account with them for 3k upwards.
